Honestly this store is so cool and I was pumped shopping and looking thru everything they had. Was initially looking for a Willie Nelson's cassette for my car and couldn't find any, but instead I found an awesome Joni Mitchell one instead! I was so excited that it'd get to bring this back with me from Texas back to California! I opened it right now while driving in Arizona and its a freaking Eric Clapton cassette in a Joni Mitchell case. Not like I can return it but just a little disappointed especially since it the only thing I bought.

Great Scott, Mother of Pearl Vinyl has answered my prayers. It's the vinyl shop my heart so desperately yearned for all these years. Could it be too good to be true?Lately, I've been falling in and out of love with Monticello, but MOPV has restored my affection completely. When it comes to the grand opening of MOPV, I was a day late and a dollar short. One might think: WHY THEY NO DO MORE MARKETING? WHY THEY NO HAVE SOFT OPENING? Because they're too flippin' cool, that's why. Seriously they're the only vinyl shop in EP so they don't really have to market since it sells itself. Sure we have All That Music and a bunch of vintage shops that carry records (don't get me started on Whoopee Bowls ridiculously extensive collection that can be rather difficult to navigate), but this is El Paso's first real deal, all-we-carry-is-vinyl vinyl store.MOPV is tucked away behind Hillside Doughnuts (or is it donuts) in two repurposed shipping containers stacked on top of each other in a somewhat artistically scattered way that actually creates optimal use for both floors. Yes, it's small... but this let's me know that these are business owners with a vision running MOPV, not two kids with a pipe dream and no plan. Half of MOPV is composed of windows, the other half is white walls smartly decorated with the occasional painting. It's a mix of vintage and contemporary without being pretentious, much like the crowd it attracts. The records are separated only by artist name which I absolutely love. It's a small selection obviously, but it got me looking at some different albums that I normally wouldn't stumble upon because I don't spend that much time sifting through that particular genre. And they don't discriminate against current albums. By the looks of it, the owners are on a quest to find albums in good condition for all fans of vinyl. I'm not entirely sure how often they add to their stock, but I'm almost positive that I could go in their week to week and find something new.The listening station! The listening station, man. So cool. A couch circa The 1972 Brady Bunch next to a record player with headphones. Sweet! And they do also have music playing for the store so I'm pretty sure you can make requests based on what's on hand. Not gonna lie, MOPV has been added to my Sunday Funday ritual!

Located in Montecillo this record store is a cool little spot to visit. The store is adorned with cool art work, lots of vinyl both new and used, along with a few other items. The store itself is small, inside a repurposed storage container. The upper half of the store has a small sitting area with an old school record player which allows you to sit and listen to a record before purchasing it. The items are a bit over priced in my opinion, but still a good place to visit.

Vibe: Ikea by the way of Brooklyn. Small shop, cool layout. But it would be nice if they organized their records by genre as opposed to just by name of artists. Customer Service: The guy running the place was nice enough but i got the feeling that it was the type of place where the employees basically call dibs on all the good stuff for themselves and their friends, leaving only the leftovers for everyone else.Prices:The prices are unremarkable, especially considering the condition of some of the albums I was interested in-it's pretty obvious that they price their stuff according to discogs. Which, is fine. but if I wanted to pay online prices for albums I would order them online. I think most people go to brick and mortar record stores like this hoping to score something for less than it goes for online. I'm guessing the premiums are because there is a lack of competition in El Paso when it comes to record stores. and because vinyl is somewhat trendy these days. It's not the worst record store in the world but definitely nothing to write home about.

Incredibly rude, non existent customer service. I asked a simple question as it was my first time shopping here. The response was very disrespectful. How are you going to run a business if you do not know what customer service is? I asked them questions on instagram, they deleted my comments. I guess to hide the fact that they were being very unprofessional with me. They said they can talk rudely to me because they're a small business. This place is a joke. This place doesn't have much of a selection, really terrible options. Your best bet would be to shop online.

The phone number listed on the website is incorrect, and while the hours posted are useful, it might also be useful to have the days of the week posted even if it's seven days a week.

I own more records than this little closet of a shop. I'll keep buying mine online and during trips. Why does "hipster" and "quality" always remain such bitter foes? At least someone is trying. I just wish they were more serious in their attempt.

Great area way too small, selection in vinyls cut way down, prices decent but still a good spot to stop by once awhile

Most expensive store in town by a long shot. If you like paying top dollar for mediocre records, this is the place for you.
