Mitchels Auto Service and Repair

My wife and I were driving from Richmond, Virginia to Tucson, Arizona when I came to Mitchels because the "splash shield" on my wife's 2017 Ford Escape was damaged and scraping under the front end. The fellas immediately brought the car into a bay and put it up on a lift. The plastic shield was too badly damaged to re-attach properly, so they suggested I just have them remove it so it wouldn't make any more trouble.But when they removed it they found a lot of oil. They reckoned I had a leak, but they couldn't find it. Then one of them had an idea. They lowered the car and popped the hood. There it was: the oil dipstick had not been properly seated. We had the oil changed just the week before back in Richmond, and it's pretty clear that the people who did that job didn't put the dipstick back right. They checked the dipstick and there was barely any oil left.Then the guys at Mitchels looked under a cover on the top of the engine where they found a bunch of dead leaves soaked in oil. This could have easily started a fire. The oil change guys in Richmond hadn't looked under that cover.The guys at Mitchel's powerwashed the oil from the top of the engine and changed the oil. Their attention and high quality practice saved us from having the oil run dry and ruin the engine and may have also prevented an engine fire.

We were traveling from TX to CA with our travel trailer, 2 kids and dog, when the check engine light on our 2022 Ram 2500 turned on. Found Mitchel's, who was closing in 10 min and we were 15 minutes out. Mitch answered and said he'd check it out and to come by. Within 5 minutes from arriving, Mitch ran a diagnostic test, luckily it was nothing serious just an emissions error. He stated it was nothing that would put us on the side of the road and to make an appt with a dealership to resolve the issue. He sent us on our way without charging us for his time. Definitely would recommend his services as he and his staff were polite and professional.

I had a bad thermostat on a road trip. Kristen got me in right away and Jeremy did the job in a couple hours. Happy to get back on the road. Prices were about normal for these days.

We started hearing a noise toward the rear of our 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. It was very loud and I was concerned that something was going to cause a breakdown. Husband thought from the start that it was a rock in the brakes. These guys got us right in to pull the wheel and found that it definitely was a rock! Would recommend this business.

Supposedly plugs, filter replaced in June. Still had hesitation when accelerating. WHY I went to Mitchells. so took to another shop. They found a bad plug, ignition coil was bad. Supposedly did a look over on 2nd vehicle, old truck. nearly lost the engine due to a crack in Radiator, couple months later. Once, maybe but twice? Nah.... Don't see many cars parked there so the locals KNOW...

Truck popped off a radiator hose right outside of Deming. Jeremy and his staff got me back on the road within hours on short notice. Thank you to them for getting truck up and fixed! Highly recommend

Yesterday I stopped because my car was making strange noices. Jeremy most graciously drove the car around, came back for me and nothing was heard but regular sounds. My thanks to him for being so gracious and kind and putting my mind at ease. About a month ago new shocks had to be put and it was Justin that helped that day. Highly recommend this shop and all that work there. Wonderful, honest people that want to help. Thanks guys.

Thank you to Jeremy & his staff at Mitchells Auto Service! I called him from my home in CA- First, his staff towed my sisters' 2005 Mercedes that was sitting for over 3 years under the barn to his shop; assessed issues that needed to be addressed, tires, battery, bulbs, wipers, AC compressor etc....prepped everything needed & did not "more" work than was needed.Then when I arrived to Deming, NM, he offered to wait after hours for my arrival & to pick me up! our experience here was horrible! Most unprofessional business I've been to in a while. Gave us an appointment and wasn't there. Rescheduled, he said come in at 5:00 PM and I'll get it done in 2 hour. Nope, he changed his mind and said leave it after 7:00. our only vehicle. He wanted to give my husband (72 years old) a tent to camp outside the building. I will never go here again!!!!!

worst place to take a veicle, lug nuts were loose after leaving there and they cross threaded my bolts on the skid plate. 30 min job took 3 hours and dude was dumb as a box of rox when i asked him questions bout my veicle. tire preasure was left 70 psi on the left front tire and 25 on the rear ones. dont go there if u like yer veicle!
