Mi Mercadito

This place was a bit out of my way but I was craving carnitas. Once again my bf pulled thru and shared another secret spot of his. I have always gone to Quality Food mart for my carnitas. This review is solely on the carnitas and chicharrones themselves as I didn't try other stuff. They make several batches throughout the day I'm told and it's the freshness that comes out in the end product. They were golden brown and soft inside. So flavorful and delicious. The red chile de árbol salsa was hot and shockful of flavor. The chicharrones we got were the ones with the meat still attached to them. Yummy!. This is just a market with a hot food section so we ate at home. But I can tell you I will be driving out of my way for my carnitas from now on. I forgot to take a picture of how they came before I shredded them but they do come in chunks.

we bought chicharrones at Mi Mercadito on North Loop, chicharrones were dry and almost burnt, seemed those chicharrones have been there for several days as they were not edible. I callled their phone number at no avail as there was no connection. We definitely won't be going there again.
