-1 star. I asked for an email bid to be itemized. They send me an outrageous bid with no itemization. "Our software doesn't allow us to itemize". So I emailed back and asked foe a quote for cleaning of one bedroom with an attached full bathroom.....never got a reply back. They don't want business apparently. I was looking for a company to do regular cleaning ....they lost out big time.

**Update**The service I've been receiving seems to be getting better and better... I decided to come back and update my original review. Quality and reliable service.**Original review**I've been using Merry Maids for almost a year in El Paso now and have been very satisfied. They come once a month (although you can opt for service more often which makes it less expensive per visit) and take care of everything while I'm at work. During my initial estimate, they came to my home and asked specifically which services I needed and computed the charge based on that. The cleaning is done well and keeps my place looking nice so I only have to do minimal cleaning myself between their visits. They also offer automatic billing by credit card which is very convenient. This way I don't have to worry about leaving payment on the day they are coming, but it just gets charged to my card. I plan to continue using this service as long as I'm still living here.

Asked for a regular home cleaning 3 bedroom 2 bathroom and the service was ok. Some dust left behind and they could've done better considering the overpriced service.

This review is of the Merry Maids in El Paso, TX.I called and inquired about wall-washing and was informed by the woman on the line that "they don't do that" so I proceeded to read what the website stated, at which point the woman responded with a less-than customer-service-oriented attitude (I guess she thought I was rude for pointing out that the website clearly states they offer the service!) Her attitude did not demonstrate an ounce of professionalism or desire to win what might have become a loyal, return customer. In a condescending manner she did state that they would wash walls at an hourly rate of $85 an hour with a minimum of 2 hours scheduled. What I could not believe was the self-justifying, who-cares-about-the-customer tone of voice and talk-back at you attitude, obviously not realizing that it's customers which allow her to even be employed. What a disappointment. I had heard great things about Merry Maids in another city and really wanted to try them out. I called back to give feedback to the manager, thinking it was unacceptable to be treated with such a lack of courtesy and with the intention of the feedback being constructive (and to give them an opportunity to make it right) only to find out that she is indeed the manager! After having first spoken to her colleague about it, I personally gave her my feedback in an attempt to let her know how abrasive she comes across and mentioning to her that she underestimates the value of word of mouth advertising from potential customers and her rude tone of voice. Lamentably, she was not open to feedback and acted like a queen on her throne who had done no wrong, justifying her rudeness. When I asked her if this was her business/if she was the owner, she said she didn't have to answer that. This manager needs some customer-service training and attitude adjustment. If it were my business, I would see her as a liability, for it is due to her rudeness that I will not only take my business elsewhere but encourage others to do the same. The ONE positive: her colleague (whom I spoke with when I initially called to give my feedback) was WAY more professional than her "boss". Maybe she can teach her supervisor a thing or two.

We had an appointment with the El Paso branch today at 5 p.m. Apparently, they tried to confirm the appt. starting at 3:30 p.m. today and since my husband didn't answer his cell phone, they decided we wouldn't be here and decided to not come. I took off work an hour early today to make this appointment. I called at 4:58 p.m. just to make sure they were coming and that is when I was informed that they were not, but they would reschedule. I requested a Saturday which they informed me they couldn't do as they don't work on the weekends. I stated that since they didn't make the appointment and now have inconvenienced a potential new customer maybe they could make an exception. They said we don't work on the weekends. I will now take my business elsewhere. I also wanted to speak to a person at the corporate office instead of doing an e-mail - after 3 attempts to get a number I finally got through and now am aware that Merry Maids is a Service Master "family of brands" I finally got through to an appointment representative who said he would have to transfer me to the corporate office - I then was transferred to a voice mail for the distribution department - this experience has not given me a favorable view of Merry Maids or, now, Service Master and it would make me hesitate to use any of the other "family of brands". I do not wish for the franchise to do anything for me as I will find another company in the El Paso area to clean my house, but I did wish to express my disappointment in this franchise.
