So, there's no special thing about this pharmacy that you would or wouldn't find at any other pharmacy. As with all military treatment facilities, they utilize the system in which you go to the kiosk, scan your ID, and then it automatically logs you in and gives you a number. Then, you sit in the waiting area which has TVs that display which number is up, and which window to approach. There's also an audio announcement that states the number and window. They have about 5-6 windows and almost always fully manned. There's never a super long wait. Pretty typical as far as pharmacy stuff goes.

Mendoza Pharmacy named because it is inside the Hugo Mendoza Clinic in Fort Bliss serves a great amount of soldiers and their families everyday. They do take forever to serve you but their care and customer service is outstanding. Last two times I have been here it has taken over 45 minutes to get my prescriptions. Yet, I give them credit for taking care of so many patients. When you come here be ready with lots of patience.

Beauty of Tricare is that your medications are covered if you purchase them on base. The pharmacy tends to be packed and busy the majority of times that I have picked up prescriptions. So expect to wait from 30 minutes to an hour for you to be called up to one of the 4 windows.Staff is very friendly and helpful. Pharmacists are very knowledgeable and provide great insight and information about your medication. It's really convenient that my PCM is located in the same Mendoza building. Thus, I'm able to walk right over to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription. You simply sign in on a touch screen kiosk that will ask you whether your picking up a new prescription or refill rx. You then wait to be called you number. There are several TVs throughout the waiting room that show numbers that are next in line or are called up with the window number. The pharmacy is very organized but expect to wait a while for your prescription, the pharmacy is very busy.

The wait time is ridiculous, let me just say if you're here to get meds make sure you bring breakfast lunch and possibly dinner. Make sure you don't have plans the day you're supposed to get medications because you will be here all day. Trying to go quick during lunch?? Nope not here make sure you got time to wait, this isn't a happened once story this is a constants issue here, great fun I don't have to pay for meds but damn let's find a way to speed up the process for picking up prescriptions.

I've waited 1 hour to be told my meds were not "activated" then waited another hour to be called for the pharmacist to "activate" my meds and then told to wait yet another fu*!ing hour to pick them up! I have to get back to work. Very organized I've waisted 3 hours of the army's time to wait in an unorganized unprofessional medical facility. Get paid to wait at Mendoza Pharmacy!!

I understand that COVID-19 has really disrupted normal work. But there is no reason that uniformed service members should spend an hour waiting to receive their medication. Mendoza Pharmacy needs to change their COVID-19 procedures so uniformed soldiers are prioritized. We should not spend our entire lunch break waiting in a parking lot.

Great service, starting on the 1st of July 2021 they will no longer accept hard copy of prescriptions, medicare recipients are no longer welcomed in the Military Clinics, and must obtain medications either from civilian pharmacies at a greater cost or use mail in Espress Scrips, also at a higher cost, civilian doctors can electronically send prescriptions to the military pharmacies and they will fill them, the questions is how do we know when they are ready to be picked up, since we are no longer seen at a military clinic we can access the TOL accounts so what is the way to be able to tell what is the status of your medications? Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there a way to get prescriptions status? I have contacted Tricare and they told me to call the local military pharmacy in this case Mendoza Military Clinic, I have called several times but nobody pick up the phone. What gives?
