Revisiting as we pass thru on our way to Tucson. Hatch Green EnchiladaVeg BurritoChips and Guac. Added in a fresh HorchataPortions are large so sharing on most any item is doable. Excellent in-store service by the team on our night. Happy to see they came out of Covid intact.

This place was once really good, but things have changed! I hadn't been in sometime and was really surprised not only by the increase in the prices, but also by the quality of the food. The Matteo's salad bowl had a small drizzle of watered-down guacamole, very little carne asada, and the bottom of bowl had over a half-inch of water! (I assume it was from how the lettuce was washed and stored). When I called, they offered to remake it, but they would not let me go back the next day and I had to spend another 20 minutes driving back. Overall, my experience was very unpleasant.

Expected to see actual meat on my bowl had to ask the employee for more meat bad experience especially for 1st visit. over priced for quantity of servings

There enchiladas are really good flavor wise but cheese was not melted all the way through. Could have been more heat hot instead of just warmed. Agua drinks good but can be a little overly sweet

"Enchiladas" with no meat, asked for beef and got four flat soft flour tortillas warmed up with some cheese. Not rolled. Not like anything. Cardboard. Sprinkle of hamburger on top. No flavor, no taste. They did refund. Can't recommend. The water was good

The ambiance was modern and clean and the order at counter service was great. The aguas are the standout; the honeydew-kiwi was refreshing and reminded me of the "agua de melon (cantaloupe)". Ordered a side of chips and salsa (not included) and that salsa was very spicy and very tasty. The Rice was robustly spiced with chicken consomme and the beans did not have the lard that gives refried beans that authentic taste. At first I thought they had forgotten the guac/cheese/sour cream on my tacos but was assured they were on there. Take heed when chewing the carne asada beef of the tacos considering I bit straight into a small piece of gristle with my front teeth and it hurt. Aguas frescas was awesome!

I am soooooo upset. I let my last order to Matteo's that I placed through GrubHub slide and that was a loss of the same cost because I did a Carne Asada Plate with an Agua Fresca for that order too which was a total of... $24.25. We all know using GrubHub and Doordash or whatever delivery service is NOT CHEAP and the upcharge is INSANE but sometimes that's what I need after a busy as heck day where I really don't want to be out driving anywhere else or doing anything else. NONETHELESS we PAY for the service and a HEFTY fee at that. So, to get food that the people putting it together think it's funny to mess with is sooooooo sad to me. Customer service is just AWFUL these days. My order from a couple weeks ago was so awful it was not edible like I said. This time, I put a note saying please no Cilantro because HELLO, some people literally hate it because to some of us it tastes like soap. So, I asked for no Cilantro. They decided to instead pour TONS OF ONIONS all over the tacos. I'm not exagerating. TONS OF ONIONS. I have ordered from this place since they opened and this was insane, it's as though me asking for no Cilantro they chose to be insane and do this INSANE amount of onions and put hardly any meat at all and when I say HARDLY I MEAN IT. THEN I am looking at my drink that they charged me $6.60 for and I'm thinking... you have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME, is this WATER!? Because it's see through with strawberries floating at the top. So I think hm maybe a Mojito Agua Fresca is see through I've never ordered that flavor before.... I was trying to be optimistic and so I took a sip and YEP, WATER. I mean it's obvious but I have had it with this place ruining orders and their quality of food being AWFUL for those that order through Delivery Services. Because if I go in person you would NEVER EVER EVER EVER run into something like this. So someone likes to get funny with people's deliveries or to go orders and it's extremely messed up. I spoke to about 5 other people about this situation since the first messed up order a couple weeks ago and 3 of the 5 said the SAME THING about their delivery order or to go order. GET IT TOGETHER MATTEO's WHO IS MESSING WITH OUR TO GO OR DELIVERY ORDERS THERE. It's unacceptable and BAD BUSINESS! I'm not even eating the disgusting food I'm on Yelp typing a freaking novel I'm SOOOOOOOO UPSET. This was supposed to be my DINNER. You all SUCK.

Paid over 13 bucks for fries and cheese lol where is the carne asada? Do you see any meat? No meat lol what a joke. I told the girls up front what is there like 5 piece of meat and was told I just work up front. And they want to smirk at each other because I said something. I wouldn't waste money or recommend this place to anyone. Carne asada fries were soggy no meat and the girls up front thought it was funny lol well I hope the owner sees this.

Came here for lunch at noon so everything should be good but everything was cold. I got tacos one of each and every meat was cold. My friend got the fiest bowl and everything in his bowl was cold including the rice and beans which doesn't make sense since they barely opened. The only thing that was warm was our nacho cheese. I would post the receipt but we didn't get one.They even gave our chips and nacho cheese to the people that came after us and when they gave us the chips and cheese they didn't apologize or nothing.

To my vegetarians: I dont recommend. All their meat free options are the same bland veggie stir fry plus lettuce. Beans are bland. Burritos always fall apart. I feel like I'm eating a boring salad plus stale tortilla. Salsa is spicy enough to make it more enjoyable... but lacks depth of flavor.Biggest complaint: interior is just so bland! With the tinted windows and total black and white theme I feel like I'm eating prison food. Or, with the Christian radio pumping, maybe a 2020 mega church.Service is good though, and the frescas are too. Yum
