This little family run restaurant is a hidden gem here in Cruces. My wife ordered the fish tacos and they were excellent. I ordered the tripitas and they were the best tripitas I've had in town and I've tried a lot of different places. It's hard to find decent sea food out here in the land locked desert but these folks manage to pull it off. Give them a chance and you won't be disappointed.

The food here is amazing. I have enjoyed it very much. The shrimp cocktail is delicious with a good amount of shrimp and they are the large size shrimp. There fish is cook to perfection. The tacos are very delicious, meats not dry and they are not skimpy on the serving. The chili relleno plate is freaken amazing. I HIGH recommend this place.

Nice people. I tried a caldo de camarón con pescado (one of my favs) and it had really good flavor and was spicy too. It might be too spicy for some had my nose running but it was SOOO addicting and had such good flavor. Would go back again

Mariscos Boca Del Rio y Comida Mexicana is ranked NUMBER FORTY (40TH) on the Mr. Sensitive list of Mexican food restaurants in the Las Cruces area......out of about sixty restaurants....when considering the full dining experience. This little restaurant is one of those places where the food outshines the ambiance and service. The food is better than the overall dining experience. Inside the front door there are a few tables with wood bench seats. In a rear room there are about five or six additional tables. This little place is not a thrilling place to dine, to say the least. Kind of a bare bones setup. But, it is clean enough and the people running the place are very friendly and nice folks. A lot of Spanish is spoken here but the middle-aged gentleman who was working the front spoke very good English and was very engaging. I would not hesitate to dine there in the future. They have menus at the front counter and a big board overhead from which to order. Most of the food is seafood....shrimp and fish dishes....but they also have tortas and burritos with meat. The food is coastal and northern Mexico in emphasis. The prices are very good.Today I sampled their SHRIMP DIABLO PLATE and a chorizo breakfast burrito. Prior to the meal they brought out a basket of chips and some salsa. The salsa verde was kind of spicy and a little low on flavor. But, it was ok. The food was cooked by mama...a woman in a kitchen open to view. While she cooked an elderly gentleman was cutting up a pork loin. Gloves were worn. The shrimp dish was accompanied by some rice and the usual little salad with tomato and avocado slices. The rice was above average. The medium-sized shrimp were grilled with onions and covered in a reddish- brown sauce....a little spicy and a little sweet. It was not real high on the heat and it was delicious! When the shrimp and onions were eaten in a tortilla with some rice and avocado slices.....the combination was delicious. Good stuff! The chorizo breakfast burrito had chorizo, potato, and egg in it....all minced very small. This burrito was ok....nothing too special. I enjoyed it by soaking up some of the diablo sauce from the shrimp dish onto the tortilla. For the money....the burritos sold here are a good deal. Inexpensive. What to expect if you go: A small yet clean little bistro ok for casual dining, friendly people running the place, an emphasis on seafood and meat heavy tortas and burritos. From what I discovered, the seafood is pretty good. I'll return. (The manager advised me to try the big "seven seas" bowl of soup the next time. I think I will. Restaurant rating = THREE-STARS......meaning sort of a middle of the road, so-so dining experience, but the food is better than that. I want to explore more options.

A LITTLE BISTRO FEATURING MEXICAN SEAFOOD RUN BY GRANDPA AND GRANDMAMariscos Boca del Rio is an interesting little place on Solano. I would rank this Mexican restaurant around THIRTY-FIFTH among Mexican food restaurants in the Las Cruces area when considering the total dining experience. It is run by an elderly couple who do most of the cooking and food prep with the help of some of the grandkids. During the several visits I've made the family has been very friendly and helpful with suggestions. Inside there is a counter and behind it an open kitchen. Several hard booths are in the front area of the restaurant and six or eight tables in a back room. The ambiance is ok but this is not a thrilling place to dine. It is for casual dining only. Over the counter is a menu and they also offer menus for those dining in. The service is pleasant but not in any way professional. This is a little family run place. All-in-all, I kind of like the place but it is not a place for everyone. They do offer a giant shrimp cocktail (very popular around these parts with our Mexican brethren) and a lot of seafood. Carnitas, barbacoa, and asada tacos and tortas are also served. Not much here in the way of New Mex specialties. Prices are very reasonable. If you want to experience Mexican seafood dishes this is one of the two or three best places around town to check it out. I ordered their SHRIMP DIABLO which is cooked in a sauce just a bit sweet and a bit spicy. The dish was very good. I had a chorizo breakfast burrito and found it average. I had a chicken enchilada plate here which had shredded chicken and a white sauce over it. This dish I found above average but not great. Their barbacoa torta came with a basket of chips, salsa and fries. The salsa was ok but a little too watery. The torta roll was large, light, and tasty. It held up well. The barbacoa was real cheek meat and prepared so it was not too greasy. It had a good flavor but I've had better. This was a good torta overall. The fries had a seasoning on them and were very good. MEXICAN FOOD RATING = SOMEWHERE AROUND TWENTY to TWENTY-FIVE....IN THE UPPER 50% AROUND HERE. MAYBE UPPER THIRD. THE FOOD IS PRETTY GOOD OVERALL.Restaurant rating = THREE-AND-A-QUARTER STARS....meaning, for the total dining experience....sort of just ok. But, the food is better than that. Will I return to dine? I probably will now and then(See all my reviews of Las Cruces restaurants on Zomato under "Rob Paul.")

Amazing sea food and Mexican food! Service is great every time I go! The shrimp cocktails and sea food soups are amazingly good. I was recommended by a friend from work she said they were the best shrimp cocktails in town and I would have to agree to that !!!

A great little restaurant ran by a local family that tastes like authentic Mexican food made from recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. The food is delicious and the staff is nice. I will be definitely coming back soon.
