This bakery is located in the Lower Valley on Alameda, before getting to Midway and after Yarbrough. It's kind of hard to find, since it's tucked away, but there are 2 palm trees out in front.Anyways, we have been coming here for years, my grandmother used to like it here, well she passed away already. My favorites are the cake like donuts with a chocolate glaze. I have had the ones from Dunkin Donuts and Albertson's Bakery, and they aren't any good. These donuts are a good size and flavorful! I also like the biscochos and danishes. My mom likes the semita and pan ranchero. They have a huge selection of Mexican Pastries and all kinds of empanadas! On Sunday I decided to try the menudo. They sell it to you in a large container. It's good and spicy, the only complaint is they don't put enough meat! Like, don't be stingy with your meat! Also, don't go in the afternoon/evening. The young girl that works up front has an attitude, a cara de caca, like she doesn't want to work there! Very unprofessional and I rather go in the morning with a different person working.

Can't go wrong with ANY of their sweet breads, cakes, cookies, chamukos, especially anything pineapple.

This place recently re-opened after being closed for a few years. Just bought "pan blanco" for menudo tomorrow. Give it a chance, the place looks very run down, hopefully in time they will fix up the place. Spoke to the new owner and he said for now they are only open the weekend. Additionally they are only taking cash at the moment (only reason I gave it 4 stars, now a days I rarely carry cash). The bread we purchased was delicious, can't vouch for their other pastries yet. Will return again while I'm here in El Paso.
