La Bonita Bakery

I was looking to purchase tamales to take home as a gift for my friend who has been watering my plants for me while I have been away for these past two weeks. Our friends here in Silver City recommended La Bonita, so that's why we chose it. What a wonderful little place. Not only did they have just what I was looking for, but I felt like I had made a new friend! We got into a delightful conversation, discussing "Mexican food" in NM, AZ and CA, the differences, challenges, etc. After sharing our stories, laughing and comparing, he gifted me a bag of his hand-made tortillas. Such a sweet young man, I just wanted to hug him! You can find "good food" at a lot of places, but it's even extra special when you also find "good people" too! Visit them, you won't regret it!

Across from the high school serving lunch to the kids and others who come for the tasty food she makes and serves. $1,00 chicken and Beef tacos, with self serve condiments are a delicious bargain. We ate the Beef tacos here today, Dec 17th, 2018. We got some killer Green Chilie and cheese tamales from here this summer at the Farmers Market where she sells her yummy wares also. We're new residents in Silver,but we plan to make this little place a regular place to stop in or take out the delish authentic New Mexican offerings on the menu.

I used to love this place, last few times I have gotten tortillas from here they haven't been good and full of holes.
