La  Aguacatona Food Truck

I've been passing by this food truck for almost two weeks, so I finally decided to give it a try today. I'm willing to give this establishment 3.5 stars. For almost $10, I think you can give a little more food IMHO like rice and beans. I think you can get four tacos for around $5.00 in town. For convenience of location and saving some of my lunch time for not having to travel further to other taco shops, I'm willing to pay some more. Now, in their defense, all tacos plates come with five...though they are somewhat on a small side...about 3 1/4 in. in diameter. I opted for al pastor, and I was not disappointed. Flavor was very good, and fresh condiments added refreshing taste to it to cut down on some greasiness. Guacamole sauce was a bit runny, but it did add some freshness. You'd better be careful with salsa...it's very hot (at least to me).Customer service is very good. A very pleasant lady takes orders and process payments. Orders came out fairly fast...about 5 minutes. I can handle that even during extreme heat waiting under the sun these days.

This place is great. The steak tacos are to die for. The only thing I would say is that it is quite expensive. A little pricey for their 6 tacos lunch menu item. It ended up costing and being over $2 a taco. My advice is that if you are really hungry, I highly suggest getting the torta, which is also really good and filled with tons and tons of meat and comes with their homemade salsas -- the red salsa is firey spicy!!! The green salsa is a lot more milder. This is definitely a great go to spot in the area

These guys are terrific. I hired La Aguacatona to cater a medium sized network television production. They were efficient, helpful, thoughtful, and the food was excellent. I asked them to serve three different varieties of breakfast burritos. I never asked but when they arrived, they had at least six different kinds! They served chorizo, soy chorizo, bacon, sausage, egg and potato, egg and rice, what a pleasant surprise! They brought along an ample staff to handle the rush. They even came out the day before to check the location. Their "aguas frescas" were delicious. Everyone on my crew had a great meal and I give these guys an A+. Highly recommended!!!

La Aguacatona catered a small event on post, and everything was perfect. The food was amazing, and Valerie was so incredibly easy to work with. Very affordable and took the extra steps to make sure they were serving everyone safely. I look forward to having La Aguacatona cater more events in the future, and I will be checking them out for lunch on main post as much as possible!!

This is a great alternative to the DFAC on Ft. Bliss. It's also good for avoiding Freedom's Crossing at lunch time. I had the al pastor tacos and they were delicious. Five were definitely enough for a meal. I would recommend coming here and supporting real people as opposed to the chain restaurants.
