Last week I decided to take a trip to California to check out some night markets. It's all part of my research for a night market project I'm working on in El Paso. On my way back, near Coachella, something pretty scary happened.I encountered a bunch of debris on the road that ended up puncturing my tire, causing my car to spin out. Luckily, it turned out to be just a flat tire, but it cost me around $500 to tow my car to the nearest tire store and get it replaced. But here's the thing: the week before I left, my husband insisted that I have my car checked out because it was making some weird rattling noises. Turns out, the engine mount had collapsed. On top of that, my shocks were shot and needed to be replaced. I'm so grateful that my husband pushed me to get those things fixed because if I had spun out with faulty shocks and a collapsed engine mount, things could have been a lot worse. When I got back to El Paso, the first thing I did was head over to JLN Auto to see Mark, the mechanic. Let me tell you, he's a gem. He took the time to really inspect my car and fix some issues that were causing metal-on-metal rubbing. I can't express how grateful I am to have found an honest mechanic like him. By the way, this is their slow season since most people are recovering from holiday spending. But you know what? It's actually the perfect time to get a maintenance check on your car. The mechanics have more time to really make sure everything is safe and sound. I know a lot of folks tend to drive to Ruidoso during this time, and with all the recent plane incidents, many are feeling hesitant about flying. So, if you're planning a road trip, I highly recommend paying a visit to JLN Auto. They're honest, and their prices are much more affordable compared to dealerships. For example, an oil change that would cost you around $105 at a dealership is only about $65 there. The prices for replacing my transmission mount and shocks were also very reasonable. It's such a relief to know that Mark is honest and took the time to explain everything to me. I can actually feel and see the difference when I drive my car now. Big shoutout to Mark at JLN Auto for the amazing service! I'm even trying to organize a seminar with him to teach people how to do maintenance checks and spot signs of car issues. Living in El Paso, with our dry desert climate, presents some unique challenges for car maintenance. For example, the serpentine belt is more prone to breaking due to the extreme hot and cold weather conditions. Mark also mentioned that during the rainy season, he sees lots of cars that have driven through flooded areas, sucking up water into their exhaust systems and causing damage. So, it's important for all of us, especially those in El Paso and the borderland, to be aware of the driving conditions and hazards we might face and to take proper care of our cars.Stay safe on the road, everyone! -TODOELPASO

I am extremely pleased with the service I receive every time I take my car in to JLN . This place is the best mechanic shop I have ever been to. I am always treated nice and the communication is excellent! They go above and beyond to make sure your vehicle is working properly and check for other issues and inform you of them. Their prices are wonderful. I never feel as if I have been taken advantage of. I will never go anywhere else.

The short review: The owner of JLN, Mark, went above and beyond to help us. We cannot recommend him highly enough and if you need auto work in El Paso or Anthony, he's the one to go to. The long review: My girlfriend and I were going on a road trip when our car started leaking coolant and needed a new radiator, stopping us in El Paso on the Saturday of the Easter weekend. A previous garage had left us stranded after four hours of not answering our questions, meaning we were looking at being stuck until Monday evening or later, ruining our plans. We found Mark online and texted him Saturday night to ask if he'd be open on Easter Sunday and work on our car. He responded that night to confirm that he could and gave us a very reasonable quote. We had the car towed to him on Sunday evening, and he worked into the night to fix what was wrong and answer our questions. He even fixed up some other parts of the engine that could have caused us trouble later down the line, and gave us advice for future journeys, all for no extra charge. He then asked us to come back the next morning because he wanted to confirm we were good to go, all without us asking. Mark is a friendly and hard working mechanic, and without him we would likely have been stuck in El Paso for another few days, scuppering our holiday plans.
