JKM Appraisal and Consulting

My husband and I are going through our first home refinance, which means we needed our first home appraisal! I have to admit I was very nervous for the appraisal part because I had heard some horror stories, and it's always scary when you can't choose the business yourself. I'm very glad that JKM Appraisal was assigned to our house! John, the owner, was very thorough with his appraisal. He also took time to talk with us and answer our questions - a very warm and approachable guy! I also liked that the receptionist called and texted to confirm our appointment. When the appraisal came back we were happy to see that we got a very fair appraised value! The whole experience was great!

This appraisal company was enlisted to appraise my unit. The owner of the business does the appraisals himself. He made clear errors with the comps and refused to correct his report when confronted with the data. He does not understand the market. He primarily works in the rural area of Issaquah. I think that his first visit to downtown Seattle was to appraise my condo. He appraisal was so far off the mark that it was laughable. I had two other appraisal done that both were both identical to each other and significantly higher than his appraisal.
