Jett's Grill

We were staying at the Hotel Paisano in Marfa, where Jett's Grill is. I ordered a Tequila Sunrise to drink, Pistachio Fried Steak for my dinner and split a piece of Cheesecake for dessert. Everything was delicious. The Pistachio Fried Steak was tender and seemed to be the favorite as I saw several other patrons order it. The mash potatoes were delicious as was the broccoli. The gravy was a a bit spicy but it enhanced the flavor, would love to have a bit more gravy

Food: I had the ribeye with Parmesan fries and my table mate had the pistachio chicken. Ribeye was tasty enough as where the fries, I didn't feel the justification for the price was there for the ribeye.Service: seemed subpar for the equivalently priced meal. Example an item was not in-stock but it was still on my receipt. Was removed in the end, but I felt that the way that the business sells itself would reflect in not missing things like that.Ambiance: was the best part of my experience. Pretty cool place, and wasn't busy when we visited on a Monday night.

It was a lot of fun for the historical aspect of it with James Dean and Elizabeth Taylor staying there while filming their movie. The cocktail list was pretty small and they didn't have the premade mix for the drink my husband really wanted which was a let down. We basically just had one drink each and then left. Can't say anything about the food... maybe we'd try it the next time we're in town, but we had our eyes on some other places before this one so we'll see.

Where do I start? Waiting an hour for food when about 10 people were in the place. Food cold, sloppy, and a hair in it. Wait AND bar staff couldn't be bothered. James Dean and Elizabeth Taylor can only take you so far! Not knowing how to run a restaurant will endure! Complete disaster with snotty Marfa attitude! I've heard about all the problems there. They are very, very real!

Love the theme very West Texas has pictures of the film, giant great drinks, and bartenders are very friendly. Help you out if you have any questions about the town.

Warning: If Kiarra is your server, make sure you check your bank statement against the receipt. My $115 charge after tip turned into a $118 charge on my card. I filled out both receipts, took a picture of them together, and left them on the table.Yes, it's only three dollars, but changing the tip amount is immoral and wrong.

Had a Friday reservation, seated at such a noisy table by the door we asked to be moved. Cocktails took 30" ("only 1 bartender"). Table incomplete set had to call server back after she dropped off the bread basket and request bread plates. Ordered a bottle of red wine, she brought us 2 glasses of red wine. When we corrected her she went back to the bar and brought us a part bottle of the wine and said she'd opened it in the bar-didn't show us the label, open it in front of us, or offer a taste. Several menu misspellings. Ordered the Valentine's market price special steak Oscar to share. It arrived lukewarm overcooked with a small amount of tasteless crab and NO Bernaise sauce! By then we were so tired of complaining we just paid and left-we were charged $55 for the steak.We were staying at the Hotel Paisano where the restaurant is located. I went to the front desk the next morning and asked to speak to the hotel manager-"out until Monday". Asked to speak to the restaurant manager- "out until later". I explained that I requested a credit for the steak and the clerk agreed to give the restaurant manager a message. He said he'd had a other complaint that AM.Such a lack of training and quality control. A bad experience.

Hostess seated 2 tables and disappeared for 30 minutes. No speaking to me or anyone waiting. It's like we just became invisible.I'd recommend businesses that have better manners.

Can you leave less than one star? Sign at the host station says wait to be seated. It should say we won't talk to you and you must have a reservation. We waited for 10 to 15 minutes the person before us said he had been there for a while and no one addressed him. Glad we did not wait as long but it would have been nice if someone would have said something earlier. I think there is one waiter for the whole restaurant and a bar tender. .

We had an amazing experience while dining at Jett's Grill and staying at the hotel, this thanksgiving and weekend. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the Pistachio fried steak and the service was top-notch. We dinned at the bar, both times, while eating at the hotel. The two lady bartenders were very attentive and made excellent recommendations, on both nights. The ambiance was perfect for Thanksgiving and the weekend. We can't wait to come back again soon!".
