The food here is always so good and the owner is so nice. He always makes me feel welcome. I love the vibe of the place, always good music playing. It's got the best Mexican food in Cruces in my opinion and I'll keep coming back. The frescas are bomb, the tacos are bomb, the Tortas are to die for. I always come here when I'm craving good Mexican food

I wasn't very impressed but I can't say it was bad either. For the price I expected a lot more meat on my sandwich. It was mostly bread and really heavy on the lettuce. The small amount of meat in my JC torta had good flavor but really needed a lot more. It could have used more mayo or something too because it was pretty dry. The salsa was good and helped the dryness a little bit. I guess I'm a little spoiled from getting really awesome tortas in Mexico so JC tortas was a real let down. There's a food truck in Santa Teresa that blows these tortas away so I'll just keep getting my torta fix there.

Good spot for tortas. A little too heavy on the lettuce for my liking, but that's why I just ask for easy lettuce. The asada ans pastor was good.

Stopped in for lunch. The specialty is Tortas so I ordered the chicken torta combination and a strawberry mango smoothie. The torta was very good and the smoothie was refreshing. I will definitely come again. Need to try more items from the menu.

Today was our second visit to this great Tortas shop. We first ate there 2 1/2 years ago when we stayed at the nearby RV park. This trip it was our first stop when we hit town, and it was just as fantastic as the first time! We will go back tomorrow morning for the eggs and chorizo tortas for breakfast / lunch. The tortas are BIG and the bread is sooooooo tender! Why can't we find tortas like this in Houston? This is not a fancy place, just great food!

I went to this place, based off of the review that the tortas were $3.95. Apparently, they were back in 2012. They are now tipping $8.00!! YES, they are big. But only by the size of the bread. The Tortas are embarrassing. Tons of lettuce, very very little meat. What's worse is tortas have NO avocados, NO mayo. When you ask for it, it's an extra charge each! If you get a torta with ham?? It's a single thin slice of deli meat. NOT a cooked chunk of ham, like an ACTUAL torta. The place is a very old gas station, converted (Poorly) into a restaurant. The tables are dirty, rickety and old. Presumably, they're dirty because they have no staff. The same lady that wraps your torta, also takes your money, makes milk shakes and cleans the tables. While still wearing the same gloves. When I pointed this out, she argued that her hands were clean. There's also no organization when it comes to taking an order. The initial appeal was their advertized price of $3.95 for a torta. Well, it's only for the torta with bologna in it. I have no intentions of ever returning here again. I've visited this place only a few times. Each with the same results. When she cleaned the tables, made a sandwich and took money with the same dirty gloved hands. I decided to leave, even though I had already paid for the torta. I figured $8.95 plus tax was a small price to pay, for a lesson. Never will I return here again. There are a few places in town which make decent tortas. To date, however, the best tortas are Andele restaurant in old Mesilla. They are $7 and the meat is literally falling out of the torta.
