Iron Skillet

They're the only restaurant around and they know it.Took about an hour from sit down to get food, might be understaffed but the place didn't seem too busy.Got the steerburger (chopped steak) with some kinda soup. Steerburger was fantastic but the soup tasted like prison slop from a bag, but man that steerburger was good.If you're looking this place up you're probably gonna eat here anyways, beats the egg salad sandwiches or whatever the hell they've got in the connected store.

They don't know the difference between a Smashburger and a hamburger, but obviously they charge you more for the SmashburgerI ordered the Smashburger and it came out with two forms patties as they were hamburger patties. I brought it up to the manager, and he just told me I could leave not to mention he could barely talk English and didn't look very clean.

They refused to turn close captions on there TV, I am legally hearing impaired. Waitress refuses to speak up when talking and asked to speak up.

It was pretty clean not crowded at all. The server was nice, but a bit slow, overall service and cleanliness was good. The food was good but like not the best/special, but overall good especially for traveling long distance. Traveling from California to Alabama so it was nice to have something hot and sit down, not fast food.

Driving between Alamogordo, NM and Mesa, AZ we love to stop at this Petro station just outside of Deming.Yesterday, for the first time, we stopped in and ate lunch at the Iron Skillet inside. Glad we did. We sat ourselves and were waited on quickly. Tea for my wife and lemonade for me.We both had the soup and salad bar. Loved the clam chowder and posole options for the soups. The salad bar had a plethora of selections besides salad and toppings/dressing. You really do serve yourself on an iron skillet, too. Very cool touch.We don't always have a lot of time when we are traveling from point to point, but based on this experience I can see us making time for a return visit to this Iron Skillet location.Definitely want to try one of their hot meals/sandwiches on a future visit and they had a delicious looking cookie topped with ice cream in the menu as well.

It is the worst patty melt I have ever tried in my life, it is a pretty basic item to be so bad. The reason the hamburger is terrible is because the hamburger is dry and cold. I believe they pre cooked them then refrigerated them than warm back up once ordered truly dry and bland. This is a sit down restaurant not a McDonald's drive through, not worth even trying. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere anywhere else!!!! Servers are no where to be found, truly disappointing, zero stars.

Been sitting here at the counter for the past twenty minutes as 4 workers have passed me by without acknowledgement nor the time to ask if I've been helped. It's now 4:52pm 06/06/21 Customer service sucks here

An absolute garbage dump. The worst cooks, crappy furniture, I'd be very surprised if this place even has a manager. If I could give a zero rating I would.... The absolute worst food I've had in many, many years. The location and ambiance is ok such a pity it's such a crappy place...

Iron skillet used to have the best chicken fried steak but it's just frozen crap now and what happened to the salad bar? The restaurant needs a reboot with a new identity

on this, the third day of my biketour, I was extremely appreciative to get off the road and enjoy a respite of excellent brunch and rest. My microwave brekkie back at the Western Motel in Deming was good, but even the minimal pedaling I was performing on my "FrankenBike" was still exhausting and refueling/rest was required. I really appreciated the outside cast-iron table & chairs, where eating adjacent to my machine is much preferred. Inside the Petro Station is a wide variety of goods that will meet every travellers needs. My interest, though, was a hearty meal that will keep my body going West on I-10 for the next 45miles/75kms to Lordsburg, and the Iron Skillet was perfect. The waitresses were exceptionally friendly and helpful; all major cards are accepted. This fine travel center certainly has my coveted "iWheel of Apprival!"
