I was on my very first long biketour that allowed me to go farther than 50miles/80kms. That is, since "ageing out", my degenerating hams/quads/knees/thighs have meant that I must use an eBike, which I purchased seven months ago. Well, I bought the first part, an S40 CruzBike, a single recumbent. I bought The second part, an eBikeKit heavy duty 48V20A battery direct drive 26 x 1.5" wheel within a fortnight, building a hybrid dependent upon that rechargeable battery. Unfortunately, I couldn't go much more than 50miles/80km. BUT, I added a second similar battery, doubling my distance, hence my distance was no longer restricted. So my first excursion was 90miles/146kms West to ColumbusNM. While overnighting in the outstanding Pancho Villa State Park ($14usd cash only) and recharging both batteries--I saw a note about Irma's; I knew where I was going for Brekkie! The next morning I cycled to that excellent eatery, meeting & greeting a very hospitable Irma. I asked her about free WiFi, to which her smile turned upside down and she told me she "I was abused. People were showing up but not buying anything. I had to get rid of it." Her smile returned when I told her that I was here for food. "Go to the public library around the corner, on Broadway." My Brekkie was delicious--definitely worth returning for. IRMA'S has my enthusiastic "iWheel of Approval!"

Irma's kitchen is a place where they treat total stranger as their own family! Doña Irma always has a kind word for a customer at her restaurant. Her staff is super polite, friendly, service is always fast and the atmosphere is homey! Food is delicious. Traditional Mexican style options are cooked to perfection. They also have buffet on Fridays! Prices are unbeatable! Make sure you leave a good tip for the waitress because I know how hard they work to make your dining experience a superior one! Muchas gracias por todo!

We ate here with great anticipation after reading the reviews. We were the only customers but one couple came in for carry out while we were there. The facility was immaculately clean and neat including the restrooms. My wife ordered the Chile Relleno plate and I had a Colorado Burrito and a Carne Asada Taco and a Ground Beef Taco. I was told the tacos were $1 each, when time to pay they were $2 each. The Relleno was OK but not anything special, the beans were very common and not real tasty. The Chile Colorado was mostly potatoes with the common red sauce of the area. The meat in the Carne Asasa Taco was very tough. Possibly we made the wrong food selections. To us the food was very mediocre. Don't think we will be making a second visit. I have worked as a cook, owned one restaurant and managed a second so I am familiar with the challenges of food service.Maybe your experience will be better. I had hoped to post a more positive review but have to tell it like we experienced.

Irma surrounded me with a hug when I first walked in ..... probably because I walked in with my arms open wide! I had two Aunt Irmas, one spelled Erma but who cares? So I HAD to greet this Irma that way-- Then her food was like a great big hug--delicious, fresh, and made by Irma!! I ordered the chorizo scrambled eggs, and what a delicious choice-- half chorizo and half eggs, and flavorful. This restaurant is a wonderful place for any meal, I guarantee! I think she closes quite early (5:00, maybe)....so get there in time! Her waitress, at age 16 and adorable, had been with her for 3 years. That's love and dedication!

What a gem this little restaurant is! Amazing food, friendly and efficient service, and Irma... we felt like family, and she prepares the food herself with love and skill. Drive to Columbus and eat here. You will not regret it! I had ranchero eggs, and the combination of ingredients was delicious. Really good iced tea too!

Irma has the a absolute best food! We've stopped twice now for breakfast of huevos rancheros and both times they've been delicious with homemade tortillas and beans with Mennonite cheese and had to buy burritos to go. We left full but wanting more! Definitely don't drive by without stopping!
