Howards Drive-In

A few days ago we were stopped to get gas nearby at the Walmart. It was good price per gas buddy. We wanted to grab lunch and were about to check the map but I looked up and saw this place next door. Decided to give it a try. Basically, it was tasty. The cheeseburger was a good drive thru burger, onion rings were good, chocolate milkshake also good. Steak fingers tasty and gravy. The French fries were somehow under cooked even though the food took a while to be ready. Texas toast was very yummy. The staff were friendly. This is definitely a local place and so long as you're not trying to get back on the road of a long drive and you have time to hang out a bit and wait, it's a solid choice. 3 stars for undercooked fries and long wait time.

Food takes awhile to get but it sure was delicious. Highly recommend this place. I had the green chili cheese burger with bacon, I really liked that it was sliced and not diced from a can which tends to dig up the bun. Will definitely stop again when passing thru fort Stockton.

Had a shake, green chili cheese bacon burger and tots. Friendly enough. Smells delicious. Whitney Hopper prints framed in dining room a nice touch. Lovely bag and nicely wrapped. Thanks y'all.

Traveling through and took a chance on this old school hamburger joint. Two words. Awe. Some. Green chili cheese burger, and fries. Chili cheese burger (as in Texas chili meat). So good. I will never understand why we put up with corporate burger chains when places like Howard's exist. Yum.

1st Time trying Howard's here. I ordered a burger with bacon. They take there time so Everything is fresh! Curly Fries were crispy and just perfect. Definitely a good little place in fort Stockton to stop by :)

Don't let the outside fool you, SERIOUSLY GREAT BURGERS INSIDE. I should've taken a photo of the food, I will next time because the food is seriously great. I had a jalapeño cheeseburger and it came with lettuce, tomato, pickles and you can add your condiments and it was delicious, the burger itself was cooked perfectly, had great texture and flavor! I also ordered curly fries which were cooked to order and they were also awesome! Good with and without ketchup. Really great texture, crunchy on the outside and soft inside. I took my order to go, but they made a great effort to make sure I had salt, pepper, ketchup and napkins without asking. Really, really great place and definitely going to be my lunch stop every time I go to Fort Stockton. No doubt they have a fantastic menu.

Here again!!! Bacon Cheeseburger... okra..(instead of fries).. vanilla cream Dr Pepper... yum yum get u sum!!

Burger was good and the ries were tasty. Staff very friendly and good price. Not tje fastest but was worth stopping and taking a break.

We got the chicken strip dinner and steak finger dinner. We chose to substitute the coleslaw for extra gravy. The portions were really big. Everything was hand battered there. For my taste it needed more salt but that's easy to rectify. I also like my fries more crispy so next time I will order them well done. The meat was cooked perfectly. Prices were great. We will definitely be back!

My chicken was pink, burger was pink place was gross. Would not recommend. The service was okay. The ambience was not that great. Please do not eat here.
