I'm here at Hideaway Lakes on a Friday night. On my way to EclipseUtopia2024.It's beautiful. It's a family operation; a really nice family.A fair rate was charged to my card at the gateFor 10 bucks more they threw in a nice little pile of pecan wood and a metal fire-pit.I'm sitting by my self of listening to the happy families camping and fishing here. The vibe here is magic, to me.The history and family backstory are both interesting as well.. If you want a getaway or are just passing through, I recommend Hideaway Lakes.I will stop here on my way home.

Cute spot and family owned. It's best to get in before sunset like the owner expressed but we were a little late. You will be driving down a long dirt road. It's a bit spooky driving along the pecan farms at night for about 2-3 miles but it is worth it and not as scary once you see it during the day. It's not super easy with an RV and car trailer but it is doable. The family is very sweet and funny. The campsite is quiet, relaxing and you're able to fish. If I go through tx again, I'd stop here for a full day instead of a pass through. Give it a chance, you'll enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Oh! And the ducks in the morning.

Had a great time at hideaway. We did catch some catfish and trout. The only thing is they have porta potty restrooms so my wife wasn't happy with that. It was $10 per car + $15 per line from 6pm to 9am or from 9am to 6pm. You are able to set up a tent and get a fire going. Staff was really friendly.

If you're near El Paso or Horizon City and you like fishing you gotta check out HideAway Lakes! It's a little on the pricier side side at $15 a pole, and you're allowed 5 fish per pole. If you do plan on coming and a big reason why I didn't do 5 stars is they don't offer food to purchase and the restrooms are portable restrooms which aren't always the cleanest. However, you can bring food in and grill and they also have a little playground for the kiddos! Their Facebook page updates when they stock the lake with new fish so you know the best times to go. We did catch 6 fish though in 5 hours which isn't the greatest but it's not bad for only 30 minutes out of El Paso.

First off, 15 dollars a rod and 20 dollars a vehicle. We grew up fishing here over the years and always had a great time. Just moved back to El Paso and wanted to take my dad out like the old days. We fished for 6 hours and didn't catch a thing. Not even a bite with multiple baits. The lake was crowded and no one around us caught a thing. The staff was friendly but they told us the last time the lake was stocked was two weeks ago. When you pay that price to fish you would expect to at least catch a few fish. Still had a great time but they definitely need to start restocking the lake more frequently. Overall not worth the drive or the money.

Good place to take the kids to have fun. But I don't believe they put fish in weekly. Being from Alabama I know how to fish. That place seems like a waste of time and money.

I spent for 4 rods and 2 vehicles 100$, asked about a military discount and they said they had to charge me on a card and the total was 102.xx. I asked where the discount was and the little girl that cant do math in her head said that when they charge a card they have to add tax and the discount is less then the tax. Since i had company from out of town i paid and stayed but will never go back again. Do not waste your time here. I promise you will catch your fish but for us it amounted to 8$ per CAT fish not trout or anything else. very disappointing and the place is not nice at all. Surrounded by pecan orchards but its all dry desert. No grass, very few trees and horrible ownership. 3rd generation struck out!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! We will not be returning to this lake! The young men running this place are rude and disrespectful towards their customers and on top of that NO fish. I don't believe they stocked the lake as mentioned. If you want to be mistreated then this is the place for you. I don't know how they stay in business with the kind of service they provide. If you want to enjoy some good fishing and camping I would suggest going to southern New Mexico.
