Hey I Like it Here

I noticed this shop when having dinner at Laventure at Hotel Saint George but it was closed. The next day I was visiting shops and needed to go to the restroom and remembered the one in the lobby of the George, right past Hey I Like It Here. I've been visiting Marfa for over ten years and each time it seems more commercialized, crowded, and expensive. This shop is typical of the higher end businesses populating Marfa but they had some nice items such as face and hair masks, candles, t-shirts and a fun assortment of unique soft and hard beverages. I felt guilty about only using the bathroom since I wasn't a hotel guest so I bought a hair mask and pretty silk printed bandana (made in Portland). Unlike many of the other places in Marfa, HILIH was actually open on a Wednesday afternoon. Most businesses we tried to visit were closed even though they advertised themselves as being open. This wasn't totally surprising since Marfa mostly caters to weekend visitors. Service was friendly and accommodating.
