Disappointing experience at Hayashi Japanese Steakhouse in Midland, TX. The restaurant has a lot of room for improvement.Three weeks ago, my husband and I went to the restaurant to enjoy a night out. First off, my Teriyaki Shrimp came on a large bed of steamed broccoli and onion slices instead of the advertised vegetables is unacceptable. I can't even eat broccoli so this wouldn't be something i would order. My husband's order was different than mine and it too, came on an enormous bed of broccoli. Not only did they fail to deliver what was promised, but the lack of variety in the dish was disappointing. Furthermore, the fact that the mud veins had not been removed from the shrimp shows a lack of attention to detail and quality control in the kitchen. To add insult to injury, the fried rice I ordered was devoid of vegetables, which is a standard component of the dish. It's hard to believe that a restaurant that claims to serve Japanese cuisine would overlook such a fundamental aspect of their menu item.Overall, our experience at Hayashi Japanese Steakhouse was shameful. Their kitchen staff is lazy. The quality of their dishes is unacceptable. The owners of this establishment should be embarrassed. This restaurant falls short of expectations.

Everytime I come here they are pleasant and the food is fresh!!! It's always pretty busy which is a good sign but they still get the order right and always fresh!!! 10/10 for sure

Great experience here. Really nice place with hibachi grill seating area, regular dinner seating area and a sushi bar. Lots of fun cocktails! Presentation of our sushi was great and they had some really unique rolls and appetizers we have not found at other sushi places in midland! Will definitely be coming back.

We order Hayashi about once a week at our house. Our kids love the teriyaki chicken and noodles. I love their fried rice and the salad. We don't dine in often so I'm not the best person to ask about the service, but we enjoy the takeout!

Really good sushi place for Midland, TX!! Seafood taste fresh, service was good, and everything was reasonably priced. We started with gyoza and calamari. The portion on the calamari was a bit small but no real complaint. Both were cooked well. Then I had a clear soup which was good. Finished off with two rolls of sushi. Would definitely recommend if someone is in the area.
