Horrible little place. What they advertise online is no where near what is in house. It's like and old dusty & dirty TG&Y in that place. Everything feels old and 1970-ish. I was the only one in there and walked by the kid behind the counter 4 times before I had to start the conversation and he finally worked up the energy to answer me with a no about my inquiry, nothing else, just a no. Wasted trip, time, and gas I'll never get back.

Always a friendly staff who answer questions and take the time to get the right amswers. Bought two RC trucks from them and turned in a powerwheel for service. Wish they had a larger selection of aftermarket parts for wheels and more custom parts but overall pretty good. Oh and they have a Shelby Cobra outside right now. :)

Thank God for the Internet, Amazon, & online orders. Horrible hobby shop with even worse customer service. 0 stars all day long.

So, this is a pretty decent place. Their plastic model section is okay. They definitely have a wide variety of model cars and planes, but their ship selection is pretty weak. Also, there really wasn't a whole lot in regards to modeling equipment i.e. brushes, cutting tools, magnifying glasses etc. And the paints that they did have looked a bit old; I say this because there was dust covering the majority of them. As for the rest of the store, they seem well equipped for R/C and train modeling, but not really my thing so I'm not too sure.

I hate having to be negative especially when its the only game in town but this is NOT a hobby shop. An RC shop...OK, plastic models...acceptable I guess, hobby building supplys...where???, model railroading UGH!!!!!!!There is NOTHING "model railroad" in this shop except if you are a beginner or into NdeM. I use a lot of Plastruct shapes for scratch building but even though they have a display its rarely to never replenished. Adhesives? paint? HAHA!! Overall a last ditch place to TRY ( meaning an act of God) to unexpectedly find something that MIGHT work. But in stock....forget it. And prices are unreasonable.YES go internet...You can find much more and get better pricing too including shipping.Id give it a zero but that option isn't provided. How in hell do they stay in business? Hal READ and take to heart these reviews. It might help you. Or.... you could hire me...cant be worse.

Worst hobby shop EVER. Mike a supposed manager will literally yell at you if he disagrees with you and Pepe their machanic has no idea what he's doing. We bought an RC car which cost about $500 plus batteries a charger etc. With everything total, it was almost $1000. I had to take it back several times, first they tried replacing different parts and then they kept saying nothing is wrong ur making it up. I finally had to send it back to the manufacturer on my own dime to finally get someone to figure out what was wrong. It turns out there was something wrong with the car just like I kept trying to tell Hal's Hobby. I also figured out the charger we bought from them wasn't working right and was causing the batteries to over heat. One of the batteries started burning thru the plastic they're wrapped in. Once again they are not willing to do anything and r blaming me. I would strongly recommend that if you live in or around El Paso that you buy directly from the manufacturer on line and skip this under-educated hobby store with terrible customer service.

The shop itself is well stocked, but policies/customer service are poor at best. I turned in two cars for service and after about 1 month I called to find out the status. They claimed to have called me after the first week, but no calls registered in my caller ID, and no messages were left. Then when I went in to pick up the cars they charged me $20(10 per car) because I could not provide the claim ticket. When he first told me the charge I literally laughed because I thought he was joking, but he wasn't. When asked about the charge he said because it is difficult to find the car without the ticket- WHAT??!! Really??!! It took him a whole 5 mins to bring the cars back-WOW!! $20 for 5 min. SORRY I added to your work burden. Think about it- that's $240/hr- maybe I should open up a Hobby shop, then I can gouge my customers. I will be sure to spread the word to all my veteran buddies and fellow hobbyers
