Hallelujah! BBQ

Wow! I think this is the best barbecue I've ever had. The brisket was so moist and tender and delicious. You did not even need barbecue sauce! The side dishes were not just " a side"- they were well thought out, homemade wonderful dishes. They had choices of green chili mac & cheese, green chili potatoes au gratin, green chili tater tot casserole, brussels sprouts Yum, jalapeño cornbread, David's beans, grandma's green bean casserole, pineapple, coleslaw, homemade potato salad, can't remember what else. It was not just your run-of-the-mill side dishes . I believe this is the only place in town that you can get a large iced tea for only a dollar! All the cooking and the service is done by servants that live at the El Paso Rescue Mission. There are people that have turned their lives around because of the Rescue Mission and beaten their addictions. Our waitress Alejandra, was so very attentive, gracious, and one of the best waitresses I've seen. she checked on us regularly and helped us with suggestions. The restaurant itself was wonderful- obviously newly decorated yet had the feel of an old train station. They had wonderful decorations and spacious seating areas. It was good seating for groups (like ours). I didn't notice it at first, but there was a stuffed leopard sitting on top of the cross railings above the dining area, it was magnificent! Other than the hours that the restaurant is open, everything is wonderful. You do have to plan ahead in order to make it between 10 and three Wednesday Wednesday through Sunday. They do have a new coffee shop. They've opened that has earlier hours. That's next on my bucket list.Thank you, El Paso, Rescue Mission and hallelujah barbecue! El Paso needs you !

I had heard fantastic things about Hallelujah BBQ and was lucky enough to get to come and enjoy the food! The building itself is a restored early 20th century building and when you walk in it's like taking a step back in time to turn of the century Texas. You can tell that everyone who is a part of this organization treats the craft of smoking meats like an art form. I was able to try their ribs and let me tell you, they were the best I ever had. The owner and his staff are truly kind people.

Went for lunch during the week. Great bbq in a refurbished industrial building. Friendly staff. The business works to help the less fortunate get a fresh start. Would return for sure.

Love the smell when you walk in here. Our waitress this time was Candace an excellent waitress. She is most graceful and speedy. For dessert we tried the Jalapeño popper cheese cake. Wow that is delicious!!

Ranked as one of the better BBQ places in El Paso. I decided to try this out for some Texas BBQ! I was not disappointed. I got brisket and sausage. With sides of Green chili hashbrown casserole, slaw and cornbread. Everything was very good! The sausage was my favorite! I liked the habanero sauce the best with both meats. Service was very good. It was a slow late afternoon, which was nice. The building is new and super clean with a large dining area. This was great! I hope to get back some day.

The award-winning beef brisket was amazing. The side of beans yummy! Green beans good too. Wish I could have tried the slaw but they were out. My partner's pulled pork was good but a bit salty. Beautiful building with a nice vibe. Spotless restrooms. Excellent fast service. Would definitely stop if passing through El Paso again!

We walked in an hour before closing. Our waiter (I'm sorry, I can't recall his name, but I think it was Johnny) was really attentive and nice. He made us feel welcome and at home. We ordered the brisket with the tater tot casserole and the baby back ribs with the Mac and cheese. As our first Texas BBQ place, this was not a let down. The brisket was soft, tender, and flavorful as was the baby back ribs.

5 Star! The mission of this restaurant, the food quality, the service and the decor all make this BBQ Joint a great place to dine. The cornbread is delicious, the meats are tender, the casserole and slaw are delicious and the BBQ Sauce tops it off.

This is our Thursday lunch barbecue place. The moist brisket, beans, and green chili potatoes au gratin are amazing. Try to go on a day that they have fresh cornbread. With the right amount of butter it is divine. Their unsweet iced tea is also very tasty. I have not tried their barbecue sandwiches, but I'm pretty sure they would be very good. I just can't help but order the brisket plate with two sides.

Some of the best BBQ I've ever eaten! The owner is super friendly and the staff are great!
