What makes this marvelous store is the international attention it has received from travelers hiking/biking/motoring/traversing the Continental Divide Trail (CDT). Located 45miles/152kms North of the el BerrendoCHIH-EUM/Antelope Wells-USA POE at the junction of NM81/NM9/NM146, Hachita is the Southernmost community on the CDT in the USA. It is a source if nutritional/hot/cold/food & snacks, maps, some camping gear, free WiFi, access to the community center ($10usd pp), fuel for your motor vehicle, and other information. Owner Jeff is often present, and provides personal information/directions. Regardless of how you get there, it is a "MUST STOP"!

Only place around, I was riding my bicycle across country and luckily stopped at this place. Not much there but they have a good stock of home made burritos in the cooler, I got 4 for the road. They are small but tasty.I also stayed at the Community Centrr next door for $10, no shower but you get a cot. They will give you the key at the store.
