Gorditas Tony's

When there's a huge line and a fat kid eating on a window decal, you know I gotta check it out. Finished with my yearly dental cleaning, I saw Gorditas Tony across the street and decided to check them out. Reviews were mixed because of service, but the line moved quickly and the lady taking the order was super nice! They didn't have Barbacoa (only on Sunday) so I got an Asasdo de Puerto gordita instead.The only time I had a gordita was at Cafe Mayapan and it's definitely a less refined version here. The gordita itself is flour and thick like a pita bread. They stuff it with pork in red sauce and it's good. A little salty, but flavorful and not spicy at all (yes, wimp alert). I regret not getting 2 because they're pretty cheap $3.50 and I had to share with hubby since he loves stews. Please be patient with this small business, looks like it's popular with workers and convenient, but I only saw 3 workers, one in the back stacking crates/handling the front in case someone walked in for takeout, one cook, and the lady in the window was not only taking orders on the phone but at the drive thru as well and ringing people up. I look forward to going back and trying out the other flavors. #supportlocal

These gordita's are by far way way better than the other gordita's place which have locations everywhere. We got some for carry out and they were delicious the Carnitas aren't salty as heck like the Gordas places their customer service is better and they don't treat you like a burden to their tasks. Prices are similar and the dough is good, just like I remember from when I was younger lol Try the chicharrón or frijol con queso!

Ordered several gorditas and waited more than 30 min to receive them through drive thru. Many cars behind us got their order first and when we finally received ours they weren't even marked to know which gordita was which. Caused a hassle when I tried to separate them with my family.

The food is outstanding but every time I go to get more than ten Gorditas for my family I am always missing some and now I have to count every time I order because the customer service is that bad I don't think I am going to buy from this place again just because of how bad the costumer service is.

My husband went early in the morning and I brought some back to our hotel, the gorditas were great! He said there was a line outside of people waiting to order their gorditas.

Overlook the complete lack of atmosphere, the weird looks if you are gringos, and the less than stellar customer service...these are awesome! In spite of other things being listed on the menu, we were told there were only gorditas. Not a problem! The shredded beef, potato and chili verde version was amazing. I would brave the stares and grab some again.

I went to gorditas Tony's on Sunland for the first time and I was amazed. THE BEST GORDITAS I HAVE EVER HAD. in the 26 years I have lived here I have never found a good gordita this good. The place was clean. Packed. They are always packed. I was so hungry. I got a carne gordita #1 and #13 refritos and wow. I will go back and be a frequent guest. Love the food. Can't wait to try the Verde one and the others. I love how they make the GORDITAS. The others was not good but this place is awesome. My food was fast fresh and hot. Filled me up. I highly recommend this place. A++++ thank you I will be back to get a lot more GORDITAS. My favorite thing to eat.

I'm not sure what happened, but back in 2019, this place was amazing!!! But now, I beg to differ..... The food was very bland, the tortilla taste more burnt than anything. The Bean and Cheese, is not the traditional bean and cheese....more like whole beans, with jalapenos, with some sort of red paste. No hospitality what-so-ever, very, very rude!! These woman need a crash course on Manners and Customer Service 101!!!!!!

Gorditas are good but the girl at counter has horrible customer service. She seems like she doesn't want to be there. Bad demeanor and talks back to everyone. Owner should look at that

The food is really good and cheap!! If you want real Mexican Gorditas you should definitely come here
