Good food but please be cautious going here especially at night. It's a sketchy area. My family and I had to get dinner and a man tried to go in our car and possibly hurt my dad who stayed in the car. Good thing we brought my dog (a big dog) and his loud bark deterred the man circling our car. I also have to add that the owners were very kind. They were locking up when we got there an hour before their closing time, but they saw us and showed us in. I guess in hindsight it was good they were locking up early for their safety.

First time order.Egg rolls, crab Rangoon, mandarin chicken, chicken chow mein. The egg rolls were hard & dry on the outside and tasteless. The chicken chow mein had little flavor. Will reheat and add soy sauce tomorrow.Mandarin chicken was awful: bitter, burnt-tasting, had to throw it out.Crab rangoon, being the first time I've had it, tasted OK but not crabby at all.I will likely not order from here again.

The crab rangoon were cooked well but EXTREMELY over salted. I threw them away. The rest of my order was mediocre. I'm only passing through, so maybe an off day? But, flavors not exceptional in entree and noodle soup tasted very odd. They did include a chili sauce in my to order, which was nice. I wouldn't visit here again and would suggest seeking out something else.

When I 1st read the reviews I really thought this was a Pho restaurant. We saw a couple eating, and saw tables that had been eaten on but needed to be cleaned. Then looking at the menu is when I realized that they didn't specifically just served Pho' They served Chinese food, soups made with Pho' broth. Our server was nice, very kind he even watched the basketball game that was on t.v with us. The soups by the way was really good. Let me just say, everyone that worked there made you feel welcome. Although we don't live in San Antonio yet, when we return which will be soon we are definitely coming to try other food in the menu.

Bought walnut shrimp, vegetable beef, sweet and sour chicken, lo mein, pork fried rice, bbq pork. Big portions. Everything was very good even with a 30 min drive home. Sweet sour sauce was a little thin but tasted good. Yes, it looks like a hole in the wall, doesn't help with plastic hanging because of covid restrictions, I could see them not being able to afford the plexiglass. Regardless, we will be back often!

Ordered the happy family, pork/veg low mein with pot stickers. Only had steamed dumplins. Got home and there was no sauce for dumplings and the happy family had 3 shrimp tuff meat of some kind. The meal was very greasy and flavorless. I would not recommend you try this place. $34.00 for two meals is not worth it !!

Golden star has grown on me over time. Sometimes I think the cook forgot to use any seasoning but most of the time it's pretty good. I find that ordering off the menu is better quality than grabbing take out from the steam table line. Love being able to order through door dash too.

Fine Chinese restaurant right off Interstate 10. Enough booths to sit plenty and a line that you walk through to be served. You can pick a one, two or three meat plate. A steady line of locals came through while I was there. The food........fantastic. You could tell that it was high quality and fresh. Great crisp vegetables. And they serve you big plates of food. I would not hesitate to come back here again.

Most vile food I have ever tasted.. the pan fries dumplings are deepfried and burned to a crisp so bad they actually make a bang when they hit the table.. the fries rice was mush and burnt. When I say burnt I mean that horrific metallic pan char taste. Beef lo mein noodle was sosaturatwd in oil the noodle had absorbed it. And it also had that horrific char taste to it.. there is sero excuse for this food leaving their kitchen. It should've gone right to the trash.. this is a reckless owner that cares more about saving a few pennies not recording poorly cooked food than he does about his customers or the quality of his product. See pics attached and you too will see what this Bute deemed acceptable to serve to his cutomers. Honestly my personal feelings are that theyre set up like a mall lunch line service in the front it was half hour before they closed and still had lots of food still in the trays. My suspicion is they tried to cut corners and take the steam table warm old crap food and toss it in the woks to reheat to give the illusion of fresh and new. Likely did the same with the dumplings in the fryer you just don't burn dumplings that severely in the short amount of time between my order and pick up not to mention the amount of grease still retained in the not crispy fried dough. This person is going to kill someone with his food handling sooner or later. avoid this place like the plague... thisbperson needs a health dept inspection which will be my first phone call in the morning..

Service is extremely terrible. If you're looking for good Chinese food I would really recommend the Chinese restaurant off of Pine. back to this place food isn't necessarily fresh they recycle I've witnessed her empty food that was left behind in the restaurant back into a container
