Green enchiladas with eggs. Halfway decent compared to the other dishes we ordered. I wouldn't reorder it though.
Tostada plate
Exterior
Interior
(supposed to be) Chile relleno - no breading, no cheese inside, hardly any on top, and covered in bland tomato sauce for some reason.
Ordered red enchiladas that was just tortilla chips drenched in that same bland tomato sauce they used on the "relleno", with bell peppers.
Smothered Burrito

For lunch today, we decided to try Giros. we met our friends there to make our lunch a foursome. Our friends both had the Gorditas plate, and my wife had the Tostada plate, while I had the smothered ground beef burrito. The food was good, definitely Mexican style, not New Mexican style. The interior is dated, but nice. The restaurant has been at this location for at least 24 years. We also noticed in an article that it was one of our mayor's favorite spots to dine out. Service was excellent.

I've lived here in this area off and on for a lot of years, and this little place with a full kitchen and dining area has been here for 24 years serving great Mexican cuisine. Familia being the most important in most communities. Nothing needs to be done to the inside of this place, classic old school Mexican patina. I mean this is a Mexican restaurant where you get a lot of food on your plate for a decent price. Yeah I've read all the negative reviews, so what, come and enjoy this great menu, the professional waitressing that is done here with such class and politeness. So bring your whole family, kids included, and get fed some classic dishes. Outstanding service for 24 years being right here serving the families of Las Cruces NM.

This place is actually called Giros! I was on a 30 minute lunch break so I had to make it snappy. They served me the complimentary salsa and tostadas. Salsa was ok. It was mild. I prefer it hot. I ordered a simple cheeseburger. It was not great, but was not bad either. What can I say the French fries were good. Ice tea was refreshing for this 100 degree summer weather. The service was outstanding and pleasant because the owner and the waitress have smiles and greet you. Which is always a Plus. I will come back when I have more time to order something else.

Worst Mexican food in Las Cruces. Stay away! Terrible salsa, pretty much mashed up tomato's. The flautas were tiny and the meat was so dry it turned to dust in my mouth. The relleno had some kind of nasty red sauce with onions and some kind of green chile, (not a New Mexico Hatch Chile). The taco shells were chewy and the filling was mostly potato. I had it delivered and they stacked too much stuff in the bags so beans were all over the boxes and the liquid red stuff from the rellenos was all over the place too. Do yourself a favor and go to Nellie's Cafe or Nopalito Restaurant. I will never eat at this nasty place again.

The menu is extensive, the service is great. The salsa is just right, the main courses I have had are really good. However, they need to do something about their beans. They taste the way dog food smells. If they had decent beans, this place would get five stars and be one of the best kept secrets in Las Cruces. But until they fix their recipe, three stars is all they're getting.Edit: Since I wrote this review, the beans have definitely improved. I've been back a few times since. Unlike other Mexican take out I've had in this town, when you order to go, you don't just get what you ordered, but you get a cup of salsa and chips along with it. I think that's a nice touch.

Any positive Google reviews for this place are misleading. Relleno plate was atrocious, there was no breading, no cheese inside and hardly on the outside, and covered in this bland gross tomato sauce for some reason. Another dish was literally just old looking tortilla chips with bell peppers instead of Chile, again in that bland tomato sauce - wasn't even red Chile sauce. Ordered online at first and they cancelled it on their end due to something about their menu not being updated . I should have taken that as a sign I suppose.

Decided to stop and try lunch. Big Mistake! The booth has never seen a cleaning cloth, even hand sanitizer is grimy. Ordered the tacos, I detest reheated meat and that's what my tacos were. One bite and pushed the plate to the side. I guess I can understand lack of customers at lunch time Much better options out there

They can't put carne asada into a burrito. Never coming back ever again. Wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Take your money elsewhere.

Good service. Clean. Love the silk flowers in vases on the tables (nice touch). Good portions. Try the grilled fish filet with garlic butter dinner!

BELOW THE NORM MEXICAN RESTAURANTCiros or Giros (they have messed with the name) ranks FORTY-FOURTH (44th) on the Mr. Sensitive list of Mexican food restaurants in the Las Cruces area when considering the full dining experience. Giros is located in a little plaza on Picacho across from the courthouse. It is fairly roomy inside, but it appears to have seen its better days. The furniture is low budget and the place has that "worn" feel to it. This place is suitable for the most casual dining only. The service I have always found to be friendly, but not the most efficient or professional. It is ok for a real casual place. The menu is varied and offers the more traditional Mexican meals, not New Mex. The food I have found to be mediocre at best....especially the few New Mex offerings. The prices are some of the best around but you have to consider the ambiance and food quality. When last in I ordered the lunch special and a barbacoa burrito. The chips were good, large and fresh with a salsa that was quite good and loaded with heat. The caldo de rey was good with chunks of beef, cabbage, onions,, carrots, and a real flavorful broth. So far so good. THE REFRIED BEANS WERE REALLY POOR; MUSHY AND FLAVORLESS. I hardly consumed any of them. The rolled enchiladas with red sauce were below the norm. The red sauce was tart and rather poor. These were some of the worst enchiladas I've had around Las Cruces. The barbacoa burrito contained real "cheek meat" and was pretty tasty....although some folks may not like head meat. The little pudding for dessert was mediocre at best. Not a thrilling meal. I have had a decent bowl of menudo here. What to expect if you go: A not so thrilling place to dine, food that is more traditional Mexican, service that is just ok, and food quality generally lacking. SOME THINGS MAY BE OK AND OTHERS NOT SO GOOD.Restaurant rating = TWO-AND-THREE-QUARTER STARS....meaning, below the norm, not one of you better dining experiences.
