Gerardo's Restaurant

Living in Midland we have great choices of Mexican food, but I hear some of the best in west Texas is in Odessa. We were running errands and just randomly saw this place. They had a wide variety of menu items but for some reason I was craving Lengua tacos. Seasoned and delicious. The rice was also perfectly cooked and tasted great. My wife got the fajita quesadilla and it was quite possibly the best I've ever tried. The tortilla and cheese ratio was out of control good. We will definitely be back as the service and taste reminded me of being in North Mexico.

Craving menudo? Maybe a shrimp cocktail? THIS IS YOUR PLACE, hands down the best place in Odessa to the eat menudo or shrimp cock tail! The service is very friendly and their place makes you feel at home! Highly recommend!

We went for breakfast, ordered Gerardos's special, waitress is friendly, there is a complimentary chips and salsa, which is very good. Not spicy hot, the special is a choice of chili verde or asado. I had asado with fried eggs, beans hasbrowns, all was good, the coffee was however lacking robust flavor, instead of cream, the waitress brought powdered creamer. We asked for the alternative and was served a small glass of milk. I love coffee with breakfast, so this is why I rated this breakfast 3 stars.

Service is fast and friendly. Menudo is amazing served west Texas style with toasted French bread. Portions are big so if you order the large understand it will be a lot of menudo. Highly recommend

Eaten here a few times for breakfast with my husband and the food is really good. Service could be quicker and better but still good food.

Had the combination plate for breakfast because I couldn't decide between the asado or the chili verde. Both were excellent, especially with fried eggs and refried beans. Outstanding!

Only problem with Gerardos is it gets a little cramped, which happens a lot when you find a good quality Mexican food joint. Went for a big, family breakfast and everyone was pleased with the service and quality of food. Well be back!

Excellent menudo (Saturday and Sunday only) there plate of asado is also delish . If you're craving Mexican food this is the place . It's not the nicest place but it's definitely good and you'll pay a fair price.
