YES YES, Freda is expensive. Let's call that the Marfa Markup TM. It's not just here; it's the entire town. Wife and walked up and down the main drag doing some shopping, drinking, and dining. She liked a couple of items when we visited ultimately sending me back over from Alpine the next day to buy what she wanted. A natural cut amethyst (HUGE) set in a black and white ceramic base. She wore it to dinner that very evening at the Century Bar and Grill grinning from ear to ear. Staff was friendly on both visits; will return next visit to find another bauble to keep the wife happy.

Susannah was the first store to pick up my clothing line, but before and after that, I've shopped with her. I discovered my favorite perfume and candles (Maison Louis Marie), the best hand cream (GOE oil), and I'll often buy a Clyde hat. She was the original Marfa Retail shop and has since opened a second location at the Ace Hotel in New Orleans. Stop by this little gem while in Marfa, you never know what you'll find

WAY, WAY overpriced gifts. I can appreciate the artistic quality and the Marfa appeal but seriously the prices were just insane for the most basic things. For example, $34 for beard conditioner, $198 for a silver necklace, $6 for a key chain with yarn poms poms on it. For me, personally, it was just too far out there. You'll definitely find a unique gift here and if price is no consideration, you may love it.

I went to Marfa on a weekend getaway trip after reading about it in magazines. On my trip I ran into this amazing boutique Freda! It's such a chic store filled with one of a kind items ranging from vintage clothing, jewelry, eclectic pieces and even home items. I was looking for some jewelry and the sales rep was really friendly and provided great insight and recommendations. I left with a few beautiful items and gifts for friends and my mom.

This is a must shop every time I come to the area. It's the first place I discovered Adina Mills jewelry and I've been hooked ever since. Yes, some of the items are pricey but that's because some of the brands they carry are pricey brands. I love it because it's a well-curated shop and it's small enough for me to easily find a few items.

This charming little store is a bright, shining treasure in the desert!First, you are greeted by the delightful clerk, who may well be the owner. The store has such a surprisingly eclectic inventory, and as soon as I started thinking there was nothing for me (jewelry, women's apparel, and spritzes, for instance), I came across the coolest hats, art, a 3D photo of a yucca, and the SOAP! I can hardly wait for my next visit to Marfa, so that I can pop in and see what FREDA has to offer.

Satirically hip. Lovely artistic gifts which are obscenely priced. If you don't expect politeness or warmth from the staff and price is no object, you will find interesting items.
