Enjoyed going to the movies at this small historic theater run by volunteers. I haven't been out to the movie since before the pandemic. I hadn't planned to, but I made an exception for this little place and I'm glad I did. They have popcorn with real butter. I'd go again. Recommend!

This is a real gem if you enjoy the films. A local film Society shows movies. You won't see in most cases anywhere else. Real popcorn w real butter-- and they have a connecting door to La Posta and you can bring back your favorite beverage. Its all run by volunteers, who do an exceptional job. If you're cheap, like me, go on Wednesdays, where everyone is admitted for seven dollars.

An historic theater with murals from the 1920s painted by the son of the founder. Very cordial staff and comfortable seats.Tables and chairs in front of the concession stand. I am from out of town, but I believe a local film society owns and operates the theater with volunteer staff. They show a variety of old and new films. This just adds more to the friendly enchantment that is Las Cruces.

This is such a quaint little theater. I like that they show movies, off the beaten path. Love the popcorn, with real butter! They even have baked goods & other snacks sold at reasonable prices. Parking is on the street, so the earlier you arrive, the closer you will be to the entrance. Fun date night place.

New Mexico's oldest movie house built in 1905! I'm so grateful to have this theater in Mesilla. It's small but it's what you would expect of a theater that's been around for so long. They play independent films, one screening per night and one matinee showing on Sundays at 2:00pm. It's so convenient for Las Crucens to watch indy films...I never would have guessed that! Now I don't have to give in to the temptation of downloading free movies just so I can watch an indy!

There's about an even chance these days that something will be available on Netflix before it arrives at the Fountain. Nonetheless, they show some good independent films, the seats are not uncomfortable even though the screen is kind of small; and they have historically had very good popcorn. Plus, it's a night out. The building is a little run-down and you have to park on the street, but I really hope the place does continue as a movie theater because Las Cruces and Mesilla need every tiny shred of culture they can get.

I love the Fountain Theatre, they always bring in very cool independent movies that no other theater around does. With the new remodeling that was done it looks great too. They also have the best "real" buttered popcorn around.

Great place to see independent films, though not necessarily extremely recent often the selection is also available to stream at home. They have the best popcorn with real butter and it's priced right. Wish the movie started at 8pm instead of 7.30pm seems would be easier to do dinner and a movie with a slightly later start time as dinner after the movie is near impossible to find in Mesilla after 9.00 pm ish. Historical building worth seeing. They even sell beer and wine before the movie starts.
