We stopped by to get a membership for range use. The club is not hard to find and parking is ample. It is very open and clean when you walk in. We found Bob (super helpful older gentleman) inside the pro shop. He helped us get our membership set up and gave us all kinds of useful information. He's definitely the guy to talk to if you have a question about anything it seems. The pro shop is small but packed with tons of awesome stuff. Everything you might need (or want) is in here. You could spend quite a bit of time discovering all the cool stuff (not speaking from experience or anything). ;) We did not eat at the bar/food area, so I cannot speak to that. The bathrooms were minimalist and clean. Overall, the place seems pretty decent. I will update my review after using the range a few times.

I was looking for a place to kill some time with a good friend and this range popped up. When we arrived at the range the range staff was nothing short of amazing. Employees Mike and Jared accompanied us on our range and made the whole experience the best I've ever had at a range. 10/10 would come again. Thanks again for making El Paso memorable!!!!

To start off, the only reason we decided to go to this place instead of a nice, A/Ced indoor range was because the indoor place doesn't allow silver casing ammo which was the majority of what we had. The indoor place off the 10 (I forget what the name is) is free for ladies and since my husband bought his pistol there, he gets to shoot for free. So long story short, we decided to literally bite the bullet on this one and pay $45 for a year for me as active duty and him for free as a spouse. Not too shabby for a member price, and on Mondays, only members are allowed so I imagine those days are less busy. The clerk who helped get our membership was very friendly and helpful with choosing supplies for targets. We were a little confused because we asked him if the ranges needed targets or if they were already set up. He said, they were set and there are only 2 specific ranges that they need to give us PVC pipes to set up. So we were still confused why we needed to buy cardboard targets and paper targets. We later found out that the pistol ranges only had these bare stands made of plastic and metal pipes that need to be have the cardboard and paper targets added. It was a little irritating he didn't understand our question, but we figured since he was really old, it should be expected. The ranges have a good variety. Some specifically for rifles, pistols, skeet. I believe we chose range 2c or something like that for pistols and it was nice they had a little table with cover so we didn't have to burn completely from the mid noon sun. It was about 105 that day. Once we were done, we went back in to ask a few more questions. I wanted to look at the menu, and before I even grabbed the menu the waitress behind the bar said abruptly, "Kitchen is closed." while continuing to knit. Quite the service. I said, I just wanted to look. I asked if they serve coffee at least, and she said, "There's a pot kept warm from 10 oclock this morning. You can have it if you want." It was about 3pm already at this point. You can't be serious??? No thanks, I told her. Later I asked for at least a glass of water, since she had one sitting right in front of her for herself with lemons. Her reply was "we have a water fountain in the back". I said ok to dismiss her obvious rudeness. The bar is opened from 10am to 9 pm I believe. She should of had the common courtesy of serving a glass of iced water from the bar. The menu looked pretty decent for prices and I saw some of the burgers with fries, and the portion was pretty good. I will be reviewing later for their food quality.

I had a positive experience at Fort Bliss Rod and Gun Club. They get a 4 out of 5 because of their low prices and beautiful/caring/amazing costumer service. Their Grill was not open. At the counter there was only one employee. Quickly there was a huge line and she was very busy. She listened, she was patient, informative and eagerly took care of everyone. The facility itself is not new yet at the same time is simply fine. You pay, you go outside drive to your range lane, you set up and shoot. The range staff visibly comes by every so often to ensure everything is being handled with care and to ensure everyone has the range badge. Yes, this range is all outdoors. You share the range with others. With proper communication everything runs smoothly. If you are here to improve your game and every so many shots you have to check your card yo have to walk and check yourself, while everyone waits but not a bad deal at all. Affordable and comfortable.

I haven't been a part of any gun clubs or paid for ranges or anything like that so I'll throw my two cents in and you can judge for yourself. This place is close to Fort Bliss' SGM gate, like 5 minutes, and it's right off the highway. There are a variety of ranges for 3-gun, pistols, shotguns and rifles from a quick zero to plinking out to 1000m. There's a little pro shop with some cardboard and paper targets, spinning targets, oils, cleaning equipment and ammo. Members get a pretty decent discount and the selection isn't too bad.So the ranges aren't too bad. They aren't really too crowded and as long as you follow basic etiquette you won't really be bothered as you shoot from the bench. There's a lot of old brass laying around, which a bit of an aesthetic turnoff but whatever. There are no sand bags to stabilize the provided target stands, and it can get windy out there. Most of the stands don't need the help but there are a couple that can't stand up to a good breeze. For the ammo, I'd say go in knowing what you want, but they might not have it. The staff isn't always knowledgeable with the ammo, so it's best to know your gun and what you want to feed it. I've never heard of Fiocci before but I was able to get around 2-3 moa groups with them so whatever. Not great but oh well. I'd usually gone with hornady or federal for my 308 but they didn't have it, weird as they're very common brands and loads. I cringed a bit when the guy suggested I shoot 7.62, which yes, I know you can but I wanted to get a good zero and good groups on a long rifle and his reasoning was cost effect and not accuracy. But Fiocci worked fine. I just wished they knew more about what they were talking about. Or maybe the experts were hiding in the back. There's no gunsmith or workshop. Again, I don't know what's "normal" for a gun club but that seems like something they'd have.See, the whole club is advertised to active duty with low prices, good discounts and a variety of ranges, which it has. But it comes with the contradiction that it closes down right as active duty gets off work. The grill closes down at 4pm and the ranges close at 6pm during summer hours and 5pm during winter hours, and there's a big sign that says "or dusk, whichever comes first." I can't imagine it'd be too hard to have at least one range open at night with lights on, or even expensive to run. How are you going to be a program run by Army MWR with the military as your primary audience and have such pathetic hours? Even on weekends? For what it is, it's really not too bad. Active duty membership is cheap, the discounts are actually pretty good, the location is pretty convenient, the ranges aren't too bad and there are a number of classes they hold that I'd like to take. I wish I could get some better advice on ammo or long range shooting though. And I wish the hours weren't tuned for someone that doesn't have a job.But if you can get good ammo on the cheap and are okay with building your own target stands, you might be happier taking a drive out to an empty piece of desert.

I shoot at the Rod and Gun Club every Sunday. The staff is always great and greets you with a smile. Cierra was working the desk today. She is always kind and courteous. The range is great, I just wish the Army would increase the budget to extend it to 200 yards.

I know a little about guns so I'm still an amateur. I asked if there were any classes available to teach individuals how to care and clean their guns. This was around closing time and a young man named Jared took some to explain the basics to me. I really appreciate it, thank you.

Warm and welcoming staff, fair pricing and excellent facilities including a restaurant, bar and shop onsite. Loads of room and outdoor ranges, I couldn't be happier to have joined as soon as I moved to El Paso. The other members all seemed friendly also, it's a definite recommend from me.
