The location next to Franklin High school finally opened and I'm super happy they did since they had to sell their food truck and close the taiyaki location at Cielo Vista because the mall didn't let them sell boba, just taiyaki. The owner told me, when I noticed that his number was a 714 area code on the receipt, that they lived in Southern California for a time and that's where his wife fell in love with boba and when they moved back here they couldn't find a good spot so they just opened one themselves. After starting off with a food truck selling boba and then selling taiyaki, they thought they could consolidate the locations at the Cielo Vista location as they were told they could sell boba after a year lease, but when the year came due, the mall told them the other boba store had exclusivity on selling boba and so they ended the lease and opened up this store on the Westside. I guess this side of town benefited because the food and drinks are really good. It definitely reminds me of Southern California Taiwanese style boba after school spots where kids can hang out, but with an El Paso twist with the tostalocos and other chamoy flavored items. The only bad thing is that it's also California prices but I think it's true of inflation nowadays, but I'm sure the high school kids will still come. I got the 6 mini taiyakis with strawberry jelly filling and they were made fresh and were so warm and fluffy! I was surprised it also came with fresh strawberries, whipped cream and lechera! Definitely great portion control and sharable.I also got the Tiger Brown Sugar Milk Tea with boba. The brown sugar flavor is right on the nose, not too sweet but not quite caramel, it's a nice toasted flavor. The drink itself is half frozen which was unexpected and kinda hard to drink without waiting for it to melt to get the boba. The boba was nicely flavored but hard in the middle. They have shaved ice and upcoming items such as sweet and savory kolaches which I'm looking forward to as I ate them all the time in Houston. They're open late and also have a stamp card. It's been a long time coming but I'm glad they're now open so come out and #supportlocal!

Tried the tiger brown sugar boba and tiger taro boba, Tostito locos and Taiyaki waffles (mini and regular size) with cheesecake flavor, cheese, taro, strawberry jelly and red bean flavor inside. The brown sugar boba drink comes in a slushy form which is also creamy compared to predominantly icy-feel in other places. The tiger taro had a strong and over seeped tea but less taro flavor and a lot of ice, would not recommend it at all. The boba was pretty fresh and had good consistency on the 2 occasions I tried; which is a plus! The Taiyaki waffles were warm, fresh and the filling made them taste delicious. Since there aren't other places hear this will be a very good place to enjoy some with a more than decent boba drink. The Tostitos locos were not great. I wouldn't recommend them. Not a great flavor combination at all.The other downside also of this experience was the long wait to get our items. More than 30 minutes to get out boba drinks and Tostitos when the place isn't even that packed.

I saw the Formula food truck at two farmers markets in the westside. I've been curious to try them for a few months. I was finally able to try them at the Country Club Farmers Market recently and I'm glad I did! They have a pretty extensive menu of various teas and smoothies, along with slushes. They also have ice cream, waffles and shaved ice. I got a pina colada slush and I liked it. It could have used just a little bit more flavor but I still liked it. Maybe more coconut or pineapple juice? My bf got a coconut boba tea. He said it was strong but he liked it. I also wanted to try their Taiyaki fish-shaped waffles. They were super good! You get three of them per order. They can be filled with cheesecake, Nutella or red bean. I chose cheesecake and Nutella. I'm not really a fan of red bean. The waffles also come with a side of vanilla ice cream drizzled in chocolate syrup. There's also banana and strawberry slices on the side! This was delicious! I didn't mind the 15 or 20 minute wait. The total for the three items was $18 and change. It was worth it. The young lady who was helping me out was really nice and polite. I would definitely order from again. I read on social media that they also opened a shop inside of Cielo Vista Mall recently. I'm down to trying it! I'm going to say 4.5 stars for this transaction. This time I'm not rounding up.

Their milk tea was pretty good. I'm from California so I'm a tough critic. Their Thai smoothie lacked the Thai tea flavor I was hoping for but there's always room for improvement. 4.5 stars because they serve taiyaki! The fish with the filling! It's like a warm waffle with goodies. We got Nutella, cheesecake, and strawberry. They were all good but the Nutella was the real winner for us. Will have to give red bean a try next time!

I like their teas, good price and good selection. I would like it if they had an option of jellies, such as aloe, lychee, etc but the drinks are good and they also have boba. Customer service is good.

So excited to have a Boba tea place here on the west side. My daughter and I tried it out today and got the Thai tea and the tiger brown sugar. Both were delicious. The tiger brown sugar is slushy and sweet and so flavorful. The Thai tea is not too sweet, just right. The Boba is perfect, not mushy and not hard as I've had at other places. The service was fast and friendly. They even have a punch card to earn a free drink. We will definitely be visiting again and highly recommend this local treat.

I moved back from Chicago thinking I could never find boba tea as good as the city's. I stumbled onto Formula on my way home and decided to try it out since I'm a fan of boba tea. I tried the Thai tea and loved it! The tea tasted authentic, the boba was freshly made and had just the right amount of sweetness. The owners are friendly too and their prices are very reasonable! I can't wait to try all their flavors.
