Fabens Inn Motel

A week ago, 16DEC2023, I began a 2-night biketour after brekkie with the Martí clan + amigos at Ernie's on Industrial. Following several hours cycling East following the "International Ft. Hancock-Las Cruces I-10 Bicycle Bypass", diverging 3miles/5kms North in Fabens Road. My request for a ground floor room was easily granted; the room was perfect for my needs! The usual flat-screen TV/microwave/mini-fridge/WC with simple controls and FAST hot water/firm mattress and, most importantly, an electrical outlet to recharge the eBatteries on my "FrankenBike". Sadly, the WiFi connection in the room failed, but fortunately, a McDonalds just South toward MAGNIFICENT MEXICO with its free WiFi would compensate nicely. This is a superb overnight which definitely has my coveted "¡Wheel of Approval!"

Now let me start off by saying - if you stay here, you get what you pay for. Me or my party didn't have a terrible experience here... but it could be better. The shower was either very hot or cold, the bed was a bit hard for my liking, and man, the TRUCKS and random noises were very prevalent. However I will say it's nice they have a refrigerator and microwave and a working TV, so the basics. So to close this off, you get what you pay for... and friendly word of advice is to book your place in advance so you don't have to force yourself to stay here BUT if you do don't expect the best of the best :-)

Manager checked us in early, told us to leave before our time. The manager was rude and yelled at me when I was getting some ice, 15 minutes before checkout: told me we had "been here for 24 hours!". I was scared. I am a 125lb female.The toilet wouldn't flush correctly. A fairly terrible time in Fabens, Texas.

This was a last minute decision that we left regretting. Busy gas station/truck stop across the road which allows for noise through the night. The room was outdated, carpet was dirty/stained, and the sheets Had a blood stain on it. When I told the lady at the front desk (who had been initially nice upon check in) that the sheets had a blood stain on them, she seemed annoyed and then proceeds to follow me back to the room to show her like I was lying and once she seen it she made up the excuse that the housecleaning may have 'cut themselves'. Once verifying it was a blood stain she walked out annoyed to get another sheet. No apology, nothing. We were hoping to at the very least enjoy the 'continental breakfast' in the morning that is mentioned on the website but that was no where to be found, nor any mention of it at check-in. Speaking of the website, where the hell is the building in the picture because it sure isn't this place. And to put the cherry on top I'm embarrassed to say that we actually paid nearly $80 for this crap. Overall this was terrible stay. Wouldn't recommend at all.

I don't expect much from a cheap motel, but this one was below expectations. Insects that I don't think were bedbugs, but still not encouraging to see on your bed. The WiFi that was advertised didn't work. And in the morning, the manager opened my door, well below checkout time, without knocking, which is creepy as heck. Maybe drive a little further if you like privacy and lack of bugs in your motel rooms.

Wifi was not working. Seeing the other reviews, it hasn't been working for at least a year! We work online so that caused us lots of problems. The guy at the reception didn't care about Wifi. These places rely on random guests so they don't care about reviews or complaints cause they'll never see you again.

They had a nice TV in the room and the king sized bed was ok. The bath towels were thin and small. The room had all the amenities we needed while traveling. The refrigerator was helpful and there was even a microwave. The room was clean. It is across the street from a truck stop so it was fairly loud outside. It fit our basic needs and it was a good location.

We arrived at 11pm and the woman at the office was very friendly. We asked the woman if there was hot water because it was freezing at night. The beds were ok but way to short. The toilet did not flush, only after we tried several times. The heater blew some hot air, but it did not heat the room at all. There was no hot water, so we could not shower. At night it was very cold and there were no warm blankets. We slept terrible. In the morning we went to the office to mention it. But the woman was not friendly anymore and started yelling at us. She agreed to check the room with us and she said that everything was working properly, but it did not work at all. She called another guy and both of them start yelling. This is also a way to deal with the problems. You can imagine that we won't recommend this place to anyone.

Way overcharged! I told her I was going to book on line same price! $50 cheaper on line. Storm was in front of us. Had a 4yr old and dogs was not safe.

A complete and clean motel room with everything you could want including wifi. Nice staff. Air con, coffee maker, frig, microwave, and TV. I would recommend working here and don't understand the other lower reviews. Also pet friendly.
