Do you color outside the lines? Like eclectic over garden variety? Speaking of garden,Eves has a fantastic one in development for 23 years. The garden forms a beautiful area fringed by rooms for your stay. A diamond in the ruff place to spend a night after traveling through Big bend NP. Alaine can't be more accommadating while we were their. We were the only ones that night, so she gave us a tour. She made us a personalized breakfast (no dairy products) and sent us on our way to Carlsbad Caverns.Very clean and eccentric B & B. She has her own beer tap to enjoy while you enjoy the surroundings. Friendly Fritz (dog) protects the establishment too.

Eve's Garden is a beautiful oasis off the beaten path where you can rejuvenate your spirit in West Texas. We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days in the Garden Room, which had pretty vaulted ceilings and charming decor. Alaine was a gracious host who communicated with us prior to our visit and made sure we were well cared for. Her breakfast was top notch. The atrium, patios, and rooftop deck were lovely areas to unwind and to view the amazing night sky. We took several day hikes into Big Bend and enjoyed dinner at the Gage Hotel in Marathon and Reata in neighboring town of Alpine. Highly recommend this bed and breakfast if you are looking for a cozy place to stay outside of Big Bend.

This place was so fun...bright colors, beautiful plants, unique decor and delicious food. The owners were so nice and helpful..super friendly and kind! Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed and more. The shower was great. The breakfast offerings were beautiful and delicious and were in individual servings with your name on them, ready to go whenever you want to eat. I can't say enough about Eve's Garden. Stay there! You will love it!

So this update is because my husband and I were finally able to stay at the garden! We have been trying to stay at this great little place for the last four years, but every time we've come to Marathon we've always had our dogs with us. Not this time! We had such a relaxing stay, the sunset view from our room couldn't be beat, and the amazing organic breakfast in the morning was the perfect way to start my birthday. Well we ate breakfast, we had A really nice conversation with Alaine. Kate has such a sweet demeanor, too!We ended our evening sitting in the courtyard listening to 70s folk music via her SONOS music system, a million stars above our heads, twinkle lights all over the patio, and a feeling of relaxation in our souls. A stay at this garden was definitely the best way to end our road trip to West Texas.

Great hospitality. Excellent food. Really appreciated how they took care of our gluten free, dairy free guest. We also love our orange room (one of the rooms in the Lotus suite). Laying down at night, I felt I could be in a spaceship or under the ground or in a beautiful adobe. So relaxing and refreshing. I highly recommend this place for the personal touch. Oh and stargazing on the roof.

Barreling down to West Texas two days before the new year without reservations is a guaranteed adventure. Puttering into Marathon, in need of gas, food, and a bed, the options were limited. Pay $400 for a suite at the Gage or start knocking on doors to lesser known lodgings. And without my typically donkey, blue shroud, and homeboy Joseph, I wasn't sure we would luck out. But lo, a miracle occurred! In the little town of Marathon, a savior was bo-...oh wait, scratch that...we found Eve's Garden. Kate greeted us and provided the run down. The last room available. The rest of the rooms were taken up by Austin's all female band, Guy Town who would be playing later at the Famous Burro. Following her through the main house to the rest of the rooms, I was too tired to hide how excited I was. Outdoor patio, garden, a crazy amount of kittens wandering around and rubbing against legs, fountains, a room dedicated to tea and hot chocolate, candles everywhere (!), hot tub (and not in a gross way), adobe style rooms (built by the innkeepers), pottery studio, library, and even a dance studio! No, no, there was no dance studio...but wouldn't that have been the tops? We spent the next hour talking about how a great first day of travel was made even greater by all the wonderful little details of this oasis. After a great dinner at the Famous Burro (where we accidentally met up with Kate, her daughter, and her daughter's husband), we wandered back under a crisp, clear sky filled with stars and made friends with a kitten before calling it a night. Nothing else could have made it better. Well, maybe if we had been able to partake of their breakfast (which sounded amazing). But a 15 mile hike through Big Bend's Chisos Basin was the goal for the day. So, we breezed out as quickly as we breezed in. I don't know why the posting says Eve's Garden is closed. Quite the opposite. If you ever find yourself in Marathon, by all means, wander over and say hi and pet the cats!

Phenomenal experience. Kate, Alaine, and Nobel are fantastic. Got stuck during New Years here due to ice storm and the food, drinks, entertainment just kept on flowing. Incredible breakfast, and even better gardens and playful colorful rooms. LookOur for bubbles the adorable fearless guard dog weighing in at 6-8 lbs!

My girlfriend and I stayed at Eve's Garden the weekend before Christmas and had a wonderful stay. We reserved the Garden Room for 2 nights and 3 days for a nice getaway before Christmas and to visit Marfa, the surrounding towns and Big Bend. *The B&B* - This was my first time at a bed and breakfast, and I really enjoyed feel, charm, and friendliness of the place. I am somewhat reserved and typically enjoy seclusion when travelling, but the charm of this place really pulled me in and made me more adventurous. I picked this place because I knew my girlfriend would love it, and despite my nature I loved it just as much. The colors are amazing as the photos show, but there is so much more to explore. The interior garden and greenroom, the rooftop lookout, the outdoor fire pit and lounge areas, etc. There is a beautiful indoor lap pool that is heated by a skylight, but in late December we did not go for a swim. Overall the B&B holds that same artistic creative feel of the towns that surround it.*The Garden Room* - A short interior corridor leading from the atrium takes you to the room. The colorful entry to the door has two built in benches on each side and a bougainvillea that lines the ceiling. Our room was a cozy 1 room with a full bathroom and shower(water pressure is the best I've seen if that is your thing). It was brightly colored with comfortable furniture and beautifully laid out bed. We had a door that led to a little private patio getaway and a window that looked into the garden atrium. The room size is similar to a typical hotel queen room, but has high vaulted ceilings giving a roomy feel. The ceiling has small circular sky lights that add to the charm. FYI, the bathroom door is more of a swinging style, so understand that is it not airtight or sound proof If you need that.*Service/Amenities* - The service is A+ all around, friendly and helpful in every way. There are three large communal tables in the main B&B dining area where the guests eat. I cannot say enough about the breakfast, it was amazing. These breakfasts were the best I had all year. The pictures do not lie, they are full spreads, super tasty and very thoughtful. They asked about our diets beforehand and I told them my girlfriend was vegan and gluten free(challenging to cook for) but that I would eat anything. Everything was homemade, the breads/juices/jams/entrees/etc. They went all out and I can tell you that the breakfasts alone would be a super fun Sunday breakfast on their own, but would also cost a fair bit of money in your local city. They are another good reason why this place is a such a good deal.*We were looking for a place off the beaten path, with charm, warmth, and kindness, and Eve's Garden was just the right adventure for us. I give them 5 stars and recommend them to anyone looking for the same!*
