Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. After reading all the positive reviews, we were surprised to be the only two in the place. We were warmly greeted, got situated, and our server told us all about the menu and "you may want to save room for some pie".I had the Shredded BBQ Chicken sandwich, potato salad, and baked beans. The food was OUTSTANDING. I do not say this lightly, but it was probably the best barbecue chicken sandwich I've had in 20 years. The potato salad and beans were excellent. Obviously it was super quiet in there, but it's very homey and the folks working there made us feel like we were friends. We did save room for some pie, and I had the Millionaire's Pie. It was excellent. Picture included.Highly recommended! We will definitely be stopping here again.

I am so thrilled to have finally tried this restaurant!! It's not everywhere you find fabulous soul food. The fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fried okra, and jalapeño cornbread are just what you need!! And the buttermilk pie!! So good!!

People should be honest instead of just NICE on these reviews. I honestly cannot understand the 4.5 review and really won't pay much attention to these ratings anymore. Must have been the move to new address or something but my rating is 1 if you go there for food. Nice elderly couple own it very expensive and very little served. $$$$ and didn't taste homemade to me and it wasn't soul food per say to me. you can go once but bet you won't go back if you enjoy eating out there are way Better places to go and get FULL as the food is served on what looks like a salad plate, I guess that makes it look like more food. Would have posted picture but there wasn't enough. I could say more but I'm trying to be nice will not return once is enough. The prices on the site pictures are wrong be prepared to pay more they must be from previous addressPlease NO reply needed from owner, there's always an excuse

Four of us stopped in for lunch on the way to Hatch's Chili festival. It was an off hour so we were the only ones there when we arrived. Our server was very nice and helpful with suggestions when asked. The Ice tea was delicious. They offer sweet and unsweetened. Two of us had the bbq beef sandwich it comes out on a ciabatta roll which is nice because it stands up well to the saucy meat and doesn't fall apart, I also got a piece of jalapeño corn bread which was so moist it was almost like cake. It was delicious! Another person had the catfish nuggets with Cole slaw. She said the catfish tasted clean which she liked but the cornmeal breading didn't have much flavor. The slaw she deemed good with a little bit of a sweet flavor that she liked. The final person in our group got the lunch special which was a pulled pork sandwich with slaw on it and a side of fries. fries were crispy which was a huge plus for him and the sandwich was so good, he didn't stop eating to talk until it was gone. We were all comfortably full but managed to finishe the meal off with a single piece of buttermilk pie that we shared. They have lots of awesome choices which I understand change daily. I was torn between the buttermilk and the millionaire, neither of which I have ever tried before. I was hoping between all of us we could fit in another piece but no luck. The owner stopped by the table on her way in from running errands to see if we enjoyed everything. I'm always appreciative of owners/managers who care enough to check in with the guests. In addition to the food the best part of the meal was when little Angel who was accompanying the owner gave us a little dance at the end of our meal. Be sure to ask for her if you stop in.

Elisa's is a small restaurant with friendly service, a variety of food options, and a nice ambiance. If you can manage to find the restaurant tucked away, you're in for a good meal (the coordinates are N 32.267, W 107.75, or in the alley near the Wells Fargo ATMs). We didn't get a chance to try her famous pies, so we'll have to be back!

We have been coming to Elisa's for ten+ years whenever we are traveling through Deming. It is one of our absolute favorite places to eat anywhere!! The soul food is that: delicious in every bite and nourishing to the body & soul!! The jalapeño cornbread is to die for! The meatloaf, okra, greens, and coleslaw divine! We always finish off a meal with a slice of buttermilk pie! Elisa and Curtis create more love in the world through their gifts of offering good food and tremendous kindness.

So glad that we stopped in today. EVERYTHING was amazing!!! I had the meatloaf and my husband had the catfish. Both were wonderful! The catfish was fried to perfection and the sides were delicious. My favorite was the cornbread with jalapeños. I could have taken a whole pan home with me. But instead we took a pie. Can't wait to try it.... If you live in the area and haven't tried the food here, you are missing out. If you are passing through, you can't go wrong by stopping for a bite. And Elisa is as sweet as she can be.
