What a fun time! I have been a lifelong fan. It was a great event. Get there early to guarantee a good seat. You can bring your own chairs. Everyone was friendly. The players were awesome! This is still a very physical sport. These players are beasts on the floor.

Finally, a dedicated roller derby team who is passionate about roller skating. For those of you who have no idea what roller derby is, my advice is to go to a derby bout. You will remember it for the rest of your life. Women of all sizes skating fast on a flat track to score points while avoiding other women who want to knock 'em down can only be described as one of the best spectator sports out there. This is a full contact sport-not for the faint of heart. It is also a great way to spend an afternoon/night with friends (cheaply), drinking beers and watching women in fishnet stockings, with names like WooTang Slam and Tyra Shanks, pummeling each other. Heck, half the fun is reading all the names on the list. AND, if you're looking to join, the team is always looking for new Derby Girls, Skating Referees (yes, you get to wear the referee uniform) and Non-Skating Officials (ones who help with Inside/Outside Penalty Tracker, Scorekeeping,Penalty Box Timer, Jam Clock Timer, Scoreboard Operator.) Try not to be intimidated by their natural good looks and athleticism - the team is super friendly and loves to see fresh meat. Check it out - you'll be hooked.
