Before I say anything else, I will say this: You get what you pay for. On the plus side - 1) the entertainment is cheap. Cost for a few hours here is well under what you would pay to see the latest release. 2) Sometimes (rarely) the productions are really well done. The odds, however, are just slightly better than winning the lottery. On the minus side - 1) The place is a dump. The chairs are uncomfortable. The lobby looks like it has been decorated with the furniture out of you grandmothers basement. 2) The restrooms are a shambles. Want to wash your hands, then bring your own paper towels, or use the toilet paper. If you can find any. 3) Most , is except for a very select few, of the actors are a joke. Forget accents, or anything else that adds to a characters depth, just remember your lines. All in all - spend a little more and go to one of the better theaters in town. Either that, or go see real actors in an actual movie.

My husband and I have been here many times. We have been coming here since 1999. And we come back for visits we just have to go see a play here. It's a great place to go for a different type of entertainment! Right now they're doing a play called on Golden Pond. You can go onto their website and see what their future plays are going to be.

A brilliant performance by the El Paso Playhouse cast of the 1939 play/movie The Women. The all-female cast delivered a witty rendition of the nearly 80-year-old play that is as pertinent today as it was then. A play about witty catty bitchy women discussing mostly men and relationships.

This theater is no local gem, let me tell you now. They offer subpar presentations that are usually not good. I know a couple of people who use to work here and they refuse to go back because of how they have been treated by some of the people that are in charge. My wife and i have been going for maybe like 10 years and we can count on one hand the shows that were actually good. Some of our friends and us wont go back since the people that sell you the tickets usually are not very friendly and we hear them talk about other people so that turned us off. There was one show last year that was extremely well done but since then nothing has even come close. My suggestion is just go to the plaza or utep to see real professional plays. And now their prices went up and even though the show we saw a few weeks ago was funny the place is not worth the cost. Not with bugs and ugly run down musty look and smell. Before you buy a ticket just walk in and then walk out.
