El Paso Metals & Supply

I needed a 2-foot piece of 1 1/2" stainless steel tubing and one square foot of 1/4" aluminum plate. The lady at the sales counter handed me a bill for $147 plus tax (total around $160). After regaining my composure, I went home and ordered the items on Ebay and paid a total of $43.39 which included tax and shipping. I try to buy from local merchants, but when they gouge you with outrageous prices like this.....let them go broke.

Horrible guest service!!!! I can't express how bad it was. The older woman who sits in the left office was one of the rudest employees I've ever dealt with. She told me and I quote" I do NOT have to alpologize for anything"! After they messed up on a cut of stainless steel sheet metal I purchased. I went back Monday after they messed up the cut on Friday. I needed it Friday done right. A simple apology would have made me feel better about the situation though she would not alpologize. They don't tell you about returns over the phone, nor do they have it anywhere on receipts. I ordered a few exta materials just in case since no one told me about their return policy. Eric the GM was very kind though he is on vacation till the 10th. So I was left to deal with the RUDE woman in the left office. I spent over $2,000 in stainless steel sheets, aluminum sheets and angle bars for my food truck. I WILL NEVER go back to this place. I was shocked by her response to my problem. "I DO NOT HAVE TO APOLOGIZE TO YOU FOR ANYTHING" was the worst response I have ever heard from an employee and the mother and father of Eric(GM) had her back saying she's been there for over 30 years. That's NO EXCUSE! Worst guest service EVER!!!

I contacted El Paso Metals and Steel to obtain quotes on weathered steel. They replied they only have ever seen that in 1/2" plate or thicker. Weathered steel is manufactured in most common forms: sheet, bar, square and round tubing, etc. whether El Paso Metals and Steel has it or not. The El Paso Metals and Steel sales rep. had ZERO interest in finding out if they could obtain any other forms and was annoyed I made an inquiry about something they had not sold previously. This is ironic since their website says:"Get the right materials for your business or project, whether you're need standard supplies and parts or a custom made piece.""Contact us today for information regarding metal, custom castings and products, or cleaning services. We'll get you what you need." It does not bother me they were not able to supply the materials I was seeking - that can happen. I was a potential new customer for them, but because of their poor customer service on a simple, initial inquiry, I will not be doing any business with El Paso Metals and Supply.
