El Paso International Airport Departure Terminal Food Court

No bueno....sorry, but the airport is small and there are hardly any places to eat. Literally nothing to do for three hours on a layover.

So you are flying out of town, GOOD FOR YOU! That means the desert hasn't trapped you completely. While at the EPT airport, you CAN sit down at a café style place (a la cart its called?) or at Carlos and Mickeys. Ok, so not THE original Los Bandidos de Carlos y Mickey out off Montana and Macgruder, but YES, same spot same owners etc. Its sit down with a hostess etc. That is PRE security, after check-in counter. Open to all, no ticket necessary. This review is NOT of those places (I am just letting you know those are options). So once past security, if your going over to the B Side terminal ( I am assuming A has same set up if not similar), there is a small food court area. I am almost sure there is another little bagel sandwich breakfast type spot, but cant remember. Either way, this little foodcourt has 3 spots:Carlos and Mickeys ExpressPizza HutQuiznosNow then, Quiznos is the BEST out of the three lol... sad right? So the pizza hut is very basic. They have the one oven belt thing, and its all personal pan stuff. One dude mans the counter, and not very enthusiastically at that. Carlos and Mickeys express? Ehhh they tried to make fast food versions of the restaurant and believe me, they are HURTING the brand name of he company with this spot... YUCK.. like literally yuck, as the person I was with got sick (mild food poisoning but had to be on meds for like 4 days). So that leaves Quiznos, ... the quiznos I well, its the same as any other Quiznos you have ever been too. SO if you don't mind that, then that's the ticket. The only other options of course are the little gift shops and just load up on snacks ... your choice Mayne

I travel to El Paso on business several times a year and usually always have to grab a quick bite before leaving. This most recent time I got a sandwich at Quizno's. The lady working the line was VERY nice - I don't usually eat here so I wasn't sure how or what to order and she was very patient. I got exactly the sandwich I wanted in record time and it was good! Definitely a repeat for me for next time - it's a good grab n go.

So. The only 'restaurant' open airside is Schlotzky's. I was here two weeks ago, ordered a French Dip. The meat was so overcooked and tough, I tossed it after a couple of bites. Today, I thought I'd skip beef, because it's probably the same batch cooking since I was here last visit. I ordered a chicken and bacon thing. How can bacon be bad, right? Due to allergies, I asked them to hold the onions. Because I don't like them, I asked them to hold the tomatoes. They eventually assemble the sandwich, and I wander off in search of an outlet. I open the wrapper, and am bombarded by the sell of onion. The supervisor I gave the sandwich back to was nonplussed. I'm guessing it's a regular occurrence to give refunds for screwed up orders. Easy refunds earns Schlotzky's their one star.

We should be showcasing the best of El Paso local food, the food court after TSA, is a disgrace to this beautiful city. Come on ELP you can do better than this. I love ELP airport -one of my favorites - and Im a FF but the food situation at ELP needs serious help. It's all the usual suspects and limited options. ELP. please Consider food truck style (like AUS) or street tacos etc. how about some live music on busy days in departures, think BNA or AUS seriously up your departures game. Leave people with a good food experience as they depart this wonderful cross cultural city.

Becareful. Do not eat at this pizza hut at the airport,in El Paso. Got major food poisoning. The place needs to be shut down.. I report it to them. And they dont even care because you are traveling and they will never see you again. Report it if you get sick they need to know. How bad this place is.

The Mexican restaurant upstairs next to Pizza Hut is absolutely disgusting! Do not waste your time or money there. My rice was not cooked so it seemed like I was eating small pebbles. Tacos not flavored. I want my money back but my flight is taking off and I can't stay here another night. Service is nice though. But I will NEVER go back there.
