I've been coming here for years. This place never really failed me. Gets my fix to whatever I'm craving whether if it's gorditas, enchiladas, tacos it hits the spot. Never really had any complaints other than the extra charge for using a credit card.

Absolutely the worst tamales in El Paso. Both the red and green tamales they served us on a to-go order were HORRIBLE.

My family and I were craving the tamales and happened to keep seeing this establishment and decided to give it a try. They were kind of pricey and to be honest I have to agree with the other reviews on here, they are mostly masa and lack flavor. However, the reason I am giving them 4 stars is because they're lunch specials were good. I had an enchilada plate and my husband had the flauta plate. The food and presentation of the food was superb. I wouldn't come back for the tamales but I would definitely return to try other menu items.

My best friend in Portland, Oregon where I moved from to El Paso GrubHub'ed an order of tamales for me for my birthday today. It's the first time I've tried El Paso Hot Tamales food and it was absolutely delicious. Nice and spicy but not so much so that you sweat bullets. Not too thick a layer of masa around them as so many places do which makes them very dry and difficult to eat without having to take a drink. These are just great! Very tasty, very good! Thank you, Trish!

Tamales are a big deal! They're gifts to unwrap for Christmas! Being from El Paso, I've grown up with them my whole life. It's a family tradition to make them with my mom and grandma for Christmas. My great grandma also used to help us when she was alive. My son helps out too. Christmas wouldn't be the same if we didn't have this tradition!I guess you can say I'm picky when it comes to tamales. The masa (corn/dough) combined with the meat have to have a certain taste. They can't be too greasy or have too much masa imo. They can't be bland either. I would say El Paso Hot Tamales doesn't disappoint. The red tamales had the perfect amount of pork in them. They weren't spicy at all. I would've liked for the green tamales to have chicken in them. These only had green chile and cheese. They were still very good and not spicy. I feel they were reasonably priced at $13 a dozen. This is what they typically cost at most places, give or take a few dollars. I haven't tried their sweet tamales but I'd like to! I didn't notice if they had them. Sweet tamales usually have coconut and raisins mixed with anise. They taste wonderful with a cup of coffee! There's also some with pineapple and strawberries. Delicious! It's been awhile since I last tried one of their burritos or gorditas. Both were pretty tasty. The owner of this shop also owns La Reina in the lower valley, on North Loop. They have some of the best masa for making tamales at home. It's pricey these days but some of the best in town. El Paso Hot Tamales is on my top five list of good tamales in the 915.

I went there the other day and bought a dozen tamales. They cost me $18 for one dozen tamales. They had excessive Masa very little meat The Taste wasn't bad except all you were eating was the Masa I'll never go back there again. Ever. I'm not going to spend $18 for a dozen tamales that I can get for 12 or $13 almost any other place and have them taste better. This place was a rip-off trying to get as much money as they can. Don't waste your time and certainly don't waste your money there.

I really do not like this place, I'm giving it two stars only because the guy working was very nice... But honestly, would never return. We ordered a plate of tacos, the only tacos available is beef and potatoes, and it comes with beans and rice. Well the tacos were not good, it tasted like a hard shell with a potato and hardly any beef. Very disappointing. The horchata was the kind you mix I guess, and it was okay. Like the other review says, the plates are skimpy. Lame.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The food is disgusting, we couldn't finish it and even our dog wouldn't eat it. The beef was gray and had no flavor. The taco shells were dripping grease. The service is even worse, and they had no food. We were given the option of tacos or gorditas that's the only thing they had......at a place called El Paso Hot TAMALES!!!!! Don't come here expecting any. This place is horrible, don't waste your money

Whenever I visit El Paso, I go here. Hands down best gorditas ever. I used to come here in middle school. I'm 30 now and still can't get enough.
