Had caldo de res (beef soup) delicious and yummy. All that we ordered was very good. Definitivamente a hidden gem. Great Mexican comfort food. This place looks a little like an old shack from outside, but inside clean and plenty of seating. I enjoyed this place. Portions are large. Enjoy. And staff were so nice and told us about the lunch special that comes with small soup for 11.75.

Another Taco Tuesday, another taco spot! This time it's located near downtown. I was craving some California-style tacos, especially the crunchy ones with the spicy red chili arbol sauce. But, to be honest, they didn't taste quite the same. These tacos have more of a local El Paso flavor. I noticed a lot of police officers, people on lunch dates, and workers enjoying their meals and taking advantage of the lunch specials. This place is definitely a favorite among locals who work nearby. I almost ordered the Albondigas special because I was in the mood for some soup on this cold day. Good thing I asked because it turns out the Albondigas meatballs are served dry, not as a soup. Just a heads up! Instead, I went for the chicken tacos, and they were decent. However, I wish the salsa had more flavor. Maybe I'll have to plan a trip to California to satisfy my salsa cravings. On the bright side, their soup is really tasty, and they serve generous portions. I had to take some home because I couldn't finish it all. One thing that surprised me was the charge of 50 cents for a styrofoam box. I didn't notice it mentioned anywhere before, so that caught me off guard. Also, they charge extra for using a card, so it's better to bring cash if you can. Total came out closer to $15 without tip vs the $12 advertised. Overall, I'm not sure if I would go out of my way to visit this place again, but I'm glad it's here locally. They have a spacious parking area, and the Mexican food has that comforting homestyle taste. -TODOELPASO

A hole-in-the wall Mexican restaurant, very basic in its conception and with simple tables, and a lot of Corridas Mexican music. So definitely a place filled with locals. The service is great very quick and pleasant. Our small Caldo de pollo was way too salty for my taste and came in a tiny bowl. The Mexican plate was generous with a good chile relleno which is "green stuffed chile" with minced meat and coated with eggs a dish that originated in the city of Puebla. The taco was fried and too oily for my taste with minced meat and tomatoes. So overall decent food and good services with a typical local atmosphere.

We've been coming here for years and the food has always been great and fresh, service is always great, the food comes out fast, and prices couldn't be better. The most expensive plate is 12.50$, but don't be dissuaded by the low prices. The food is authentic, Mexican food with great taste.
