Double S Steakhouse

Still going strong as my go-to steakhouse after several years. In addition to special date nights with the Missus, it's become a go-to family restaurant anytime we go glamping at the KOA Holiday on the other side of the freeway. Our last visit was memorable, on the patio, rubbing shoulders with the locals and cheering for Willcox in the softball little league World Series. As always, the service was great, food tasted good, and I loved their little salad bar.

This is kind of a basic steakhouse. Everything was ok, but not extraordinary. There aren't loads of options in town so this spot stays pretty busy. We had about a 10 minute wait. Double S was clean. The salad bar was small and seemed trustworthy. We had steaks and left full.

So disappointed after reading good reviews. The staff was really good. We were there on a busy Sunday, sat in the bar which was fun. However our food - very salty. Partner had prime rib French dip. The meat was very dry and the au jus was too salty to use. I was going "light" w/mostly sides. Had Brussel sprouts appetizer- good but salty. Pinto beans had little flavor; mushrooms & onions were ok. We might have been better off going to the "cook it yourself" steak house.

Party of 9 and there were multiple open tables but the servers told us it would be 30 mins to be seated. We asked if we can just squeeze in on a 6 seat table. We had 2 small kids that were able to make that manageable. Our server took our drink order and completely skipped one adult in our party. I ordered sweet tea and it was not sweet. I asked for sweet tea and seemed like I was annoying our server. Our food took about 40 mins to come out and we ordered steak fries but they were more shoestring than steak fries. The steak was well prepared and the baked potato was good. The Double S Steak Salad was underwhelming: a bed of iceberg lettuce, some chopped tomato, bunch of red onion and about 1/4 avocado and maybe 5 small steak strips. I'm sure this restaurant has better days service wise, as the reviews show, but today was an off day for sure.

Ambience is about what you'd expect from a modern middling steakhouse. The service is friendly if more than a little on the slow side. Their brisket sandwich and beans were both tasty, although both were a bit runnier than I prefer. Don't eat your fries first or you'll completely lose that bottom bun on the brisket Fries were shoestring and fairly decent.

I have been to this place a few times but never left a review ?? Any way it's very nice place. Has a small bar area and a large outside place to eat but no heaters ?? The have a little bit of everything. We tried the steak and prime rib. To my surprise it was very very good. We loved the appetizer as well. Service was a little slow but we were there just to have a good time and talk. All you people with cell phones ,, put them away at the dinner table.

Double S Steakhouse was suggested by a local. Really welcoming ambiance with lovely cozy Western decor. The workers were super friendly and helpful. Ordered the Steakhouse Burger with curly fries. The burger was made with angus beef; it was super juicy and flavorful. I also tried the French Onion Dip sandwich with steak fries. It was pretty good, but not the best I've had. The onion dip paired really well with the sandwich and the fries. I liked that they had a self served salad bar (not unlimited though). The salad bar is a one time access, ordered either as a large plate or included as a side with an entry (smaller salad bowl provided if it's a side). Good place overall with plenty of options. I recommend Double S Steakhouse for anyone staying in the area or passing through craving comfort food.

Food was great, the service was horrible. Got set and only saw our service when he took our order. We saw the runner more and she helped use more than he did. Definitely needs more servers or training since we felt forgotten. I asked for my side and never got it. I asked the runner for refills, boxes to go and my forgotten side dish. My check was also brought by the runner.... Won't come back

Literally the most amazing food I've ever had...took my mom there and we got the Texas Poppers with queso and brisket with some kind of pepper and they were amazing!!!Service was fast and the place itself was super cool...almost like an old western town.

Great food. Cute little country steakhouse we stopped in while traveling. Place was packed so service was slow but the server was super friendly so it was understandable and fine with us. Unfortunately they just sold out of the prime rib while we were ordering but everyone who ordered it seem to really enjoy it. We got a steak salad and a ribeye platter. Everything was delicious. Also got a side of the Brussels sprouts which were prepared different but unique. They were in a beef broth with cashews. Was scared when they came but even my husband lined them and he doesn't normally eat Brussels sprouts. Would recommend this place but it's busy so be patient.
