Don Felix Cafe

Very fun little cafe in the middle of Old Mesilla Plaza with outdoor seating!!! They have a lot of vegetarian and vegan options which a huge to me because I love a diverse and modern menu. Their lemonade is served in mason jars and they're to die for! Not too sugary and sweet and not too watered down/ sour as well. Just perfect. I had their Avocado Toast made with jalapeño corn bread + grilled avocado + blood orange oil + sun dried tomato + micro greens. That is from their breakfast selection. Spicy Manzana Tacos$14.00four spiced fried potato tacos + jalapeno + red onion + grilled fuji apple + Grilled avocado + micro radishThey close pretty early at 5 or even 5:30. Their server took my lemonade to go and it seemed like she wanted us to leave early at 4:30 but she nice overall.

We arrived and were seated right away. This small restaurant is off the plaza in this quaint pecan tree lined town. We were happy with all the food! Salsa and chips were great! 3 different salsas to choose from, spicy to ones liking. The deconstructed queso fundido was yummy with flavorful chorizo, blue corn tortillas, bubbly cheese, and roasted jalapeno you can reconstruct to your desire. We enjoyed our blue corn pecan chicken flautas and carne asada street tacos very much! The pistachio honey ice cream sopapilla was the top to a satisfying meal. Great place! Something different, and above all, tasty!

We really enjoyed this restaurant for lunch today. We wanted to see the jazz and blues festival that was happening on the plaza and did a little yelp search for reviews and once again my Yelper friends delivered. The pork Street tacos were absolutely fantastic and hubby had the flautas which was such a unique flavor and chock-full of chicken. We also really liked the street corn. The margaritas are made with some type of guava syrup and they were fantastic, don't skip out on these.What a great spot to enjoy the live jazz and blues music that was happening.Service was fantastic and we would definitely return to this location if we were locals.Total bill for each entrée +2 beers and two margaritas was $54 before tip.

First time going to don Felix and will not be returning . Service is very slow and the portions for the price is not worth it . Was not asked if I wanted a refill on my sodas. We ordered an appetizer and it took quite a bit of time to get to the table . It's was just the fundido board which was just warmed up cheese . The place wasn't busy at all . I then ordered the queso burger and it was raw . We let the girl know that the burger was raw and the waitress didn't really offer to do anything to fix it . Not worth spending my money here and I recommend you don't either .

Food is a little bit more pricey for the amount of food given. Ambiance is cute outside. Inside has a few tables with a cute mural. I was not honestly a fan of the food, but my friends liked their burgers. I got the carne asada taco.

Café with poor quality coffee, no TP and watered down pozole. It's a FAILURE! Waste of my time and money. All the toilet paper is locked up, that's so ridiculous!! Ask for some TP before you go. Horrible service. Never asked to refill drinks. Waitress is untrained. Ran out of proper coffee and served me terrible instant junk, worst I've had at restaurant, i had better coffee at a dirty garage in Haite. I've never had such watered down pozole before either. I'll never go to this failure again.

Food: was very good, not huge portion but very well seasoned and unique. Service: Great service and the waitress used her head and definitely knew what she was doing. Ambiance: Cozy little place, could use some paint and updating but overall not bad. Definitely would take friends here, a hidden gem right in Mesilla.

The food was terrific. The jalapeño cream cheese puffs were delicious. The pulled pork and veggie tacos were very good and the flourless chocolate cake was to die for. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

I have been in several times, service was awesome! The food was excellent, I always get the green chile pozole, but sometimes I'll get the duck enchiladas and they were fantastic. The restaurant was very cute and felt homie. I will continue to give this restaurant my time. I love it!!!

Do not recommend. We never got the food we ordered. We waited an hour for our plate (a burger) and we ended up just cashing out after an hour of waiting because I had already finished my pozole. The waitresses couldn't even give us cups of water. They also didn't have any food in the menu and instead of being upfront about it instead of keeping us waiting "oh sorry we don't have that, oh sorry we ran out of that" after ringing us at the register just very unprofessional not pleasant. Never coming back.
