DH Lescombes Winery & Bistro

I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant if you are ever in Las Cruces. Both the service and food were impeccable.Christian was our very courteous and attentive server. My daughter had a glass of the signature Cabernet which she described as full bodied and smooth.For an appetizer, we had the jalapeño bacon wrapped shrimp. I was disappointed that it was only 5 shrimp for a $22 plate, but that doesn't mean that they weren't delicious. It is an experience but I don't think it will be a common order in the future.My daughter had the Mongolian Beef and I had the Pecan Dijon Chicken, both were scrumptious. I usually have a small appetite, and it is on a very rare occasion that I finish my plate, so it speaks to the food that I cleared my plate. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Totally great experience at Lescombes Winery on Veteran's Day.Liz just looked them up, and we were there to check it out. Between the Yelp! Coupon for a free flight, which they honored. Then free lunch of the Veteran's Day menu. Then the service was amazing, from the reception, to the bar, to the table service... it was all excellent. Keanu made sure we were taken care of.I enjoyed a red flight, Liz tried the white. We found a few favorite flavors and eventually bought a couple of bottle to go. The Sangiovese/Cab' blend was good, and the Malvasian Reisling was amazing. Thanks for helping me out, Kayla.The food was just as good. I was impressed by their meatloaf which came with roasted zucchini and garlic mashed potatoes. It was great. I shared some with Liz, and she thought the same. The meatloaf was well flavored. Liz ordered the (Colorado) chili, and it was also very good. The pork cubes were super tender.They had indoor and outdoor seating, and the views were great... you could see the mountains. Plenty of parking in their private lot. Now that I have a couple of favorites, I would come back to hang or enjoy a bottle of wine here.Thank you for supporting our veterans!

I'm so full as I write this! Went to dinner with 3 others and it was a lovely introduction to their menu. I'm not a wine drinker, but the server suggested a sample of their red table blend. My Cabernet fan friend felt it was a great blend of you wanted a sweet red, but he wasn't a fan. The other 2 enjoyed the taster, but said it wasn't something they would have with dinner. They're pretty traditional old vine Zinfandel California wine drinkers, and that's a tough crowd to impress. But dinner- let's talk impressive. We started with calamari and the bread they provided. Calamari was perfectly breaded and cooked to crispy. The bread was served with herbed butter and was nice. I ordered and shared the schnitzel. Forgot to ask for it without the mushroom sauce. A little allergy to them, but I scraped the sauce onto the shared serving - and it was fine. Served with the most delicious mashed potatoes and green beans. The beans were a little oniony, but that's my issue, so I picked around the onions. Another guest had a dinner salad and the mussels appetizer. The salad was good sized and the mussel appetizer was a generous portion. I would have been soaking up thr broth with the bread if I had selected that for my meal! And last but not least was the pot roast. It looked so perfectly cooked. The meat was tender, it had mashed potatoes with it and the only thing was the carrots were on the mushy side. That's always the hardest part of pot roast - how the carrots finish is a fine line! Some people love them soft and others want a little more firmness to them. How to match carrot reality with expectations! We were offered deserts, but we were all too full to indulge- next time!Service was attentive and friendly. I'm a fan!

This was an amazing find. I'm here for work and I live a block away from the restaurant. I had family in town so we went over around six. We had reservations (that I highly recommend because of the crowd) and were seated quickly. We ordered a bottle of Sirah for the table. It was from the limited menu and I absolutely loved it. Our server (Kelsey) was excellent. The food was wonderful (I had the meatloaf). The place is not overly formal but very nice. I'm here for nine months and I will be a regular. Every member of the staff that visited our table especially Kelsey was amazing. 2-15-2025

Good wine goes hand in hand with great food. Service and ambience:The winery is very well staged and decorated. It offers plenty of seating arrangements both inside and outside. The atmosphere helped me to enjoy the meal and wine.Staff members were friendly and polite. We received very good service and advice for food and wine pairing.Food and wine:Starter - hummus and feta cheese with bread was really tasty. Good start. Mains - I ordered grilled salmon. I appreciated that it was wild caught fish. The salmon was not overcooked. The jasmine rice was too sticky but the green beans were steamed well.Pecan crusted chicken dish with mashed potatoes was good. We enjoyed the seasoning on the chicken crust.Dessert- Crème brûlée had good consistency and texture. Well balanced sweetness.Wine - we really enjoyed the selection of reds. Well balanced, fruit forward and soft tannins.Pricing:Considering the location, quality of the place, food and wine, the prices weren't too high.

I'm so happy Yelp recommended this place while on vacation with dad.The staff was so friendly and helpful. The decoration was also stunning. My favorite was the live pianist. That was fantastic.I tried the Pasta New Mexico. It was incredible. One of the best meals I have ever eaten. Dad ordered the meatloaf and felt the same way.

This was most upscale restaurant we've been to in Las Cruces so far. Service was excellent and they had the most beautiful view from their patio. We tried their pecan crusted chicken, schnitzel, and grilled salmon dinner. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned and beautifully presented. Although, we were able to get a table without a reservation on a Thursday evening, I recommend making one. We tried to come back the next day and the wait was about an hour. Will be back soon to try more entrees. Highly recommend!!

Lovely dining experience at this winery. Wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. Wine selection was varied and likely to find one any palate would appreciate. We started with the bruschetta and calamari both were very nicely done and flavorful. For dinner I had the southwest meatloaf with mashed potatoes and veg. The amount of flavor packed in this thing cannot be beat! It was moist, delicious, slight heat with slight sweet, amazing and can't go wrong!

Time for an updated review. We still come to D.H. Lescombes when visiting our family in town. The food is consistently good, and they have a really good variety to choose from. Service has been good our past several visits with waters delivered right away, orders taken within a few minutes, a check-in after food is delivered, etc. It's attentive without hovering. The space itself is large and the seats comfortable. Oddly, the bar area tends to be quieter than the dining room / outdoor space. Keep that in mind if anyone in your party wears hearing aids. We have ordered to go before, and we were happy with the food then. It's a solid choice in the area.

A customer friendly team, always enjoy Lescombes in Las Cruces and Alamogordo, the food and wine is excellent!
