We were looking for a memorable way to celebrate my son's 11th birthday. A phone call to Michael and he was planning a visit that would last for years. We arrived to Courtland on a Sunday morning at 10 am. My sister (and her family), my parents, and my family were greeted by Michael and Cindy. They ensured we were properly prepared for our adventure. Anything lacking, Michael had extras. As we walked down the from the outdoor gazebo, my sister found a dime from 1900; her find was promptly photographed. We learned that the dime and her name would be added to the Courtland museum. We made our way into downtown Courtland, the adults were treated to a history lesson while the three children went with Cindy on a scavenger hunt. Cindy had many surprises for the kids as they built up their rock collections. While on our walk we saw evidence of ancient Hohokam presence in Courtland. The tour ended with a visit into an old mine. We then set up lunch in the gazebo and enjoyed time with the family. As our day wrapped up, Michael had one more surprise. The Gleeson jail was open this weekend, we had one more stop. On our way to the jail, we detoured and Michael showed us where the Courtland cemetery was. Our adventure into Courtland was amazing. My entire family was impressed with the history and activities. Thank you Michael and Cindy for taking such great care of us all.

Before I visited Courtland Ghost Town, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Even though I love the outdoors, I was nervous about relying on solar power for several days. But Michael, our host and tour guide, could not have been more accommodating. He made sure we were hydrated, well fed, and gave us an amazing tour of old turquoise mines and the lands of Arizona. Plus, his dog, Molly, is the best!If you're looking for a quiet escape from a busy, noisy l, stress-filled life, I can't think of a better place to connect with Mother Earth, stare at the starry night sky, and learn about the history of the area. A must-do!

Old Pueblo Lapidary Club went on a field trip to Courtland Ghost Town. We had so much fun and found so many great specimens and some that are great for cabbing. Mike and his team were great and very attentive to all of us making sure we were in the right place to find the rocks/minerals we want and helped carry out our findings. Set up a cleaning area for our rocks. Has indoor plumbing which is very clean and a very nice ramada to eat your lunch and take a break from the sun. Cannot wait to go back and rock hound some more. We did the tour and tailing collecting $40 got our money worth. They also have turquoise tour/collecting monthly. Worth the money to go and collect. Thanks Mike for a wonderful day.

We went out for a group trip to celebrate a friends bachelor party, and this place was more than we could have ever expected. We wanted something unique, quite, but fairly comfortable and this place was perfect. So much to explore, and do, but so relaxing too!

We had a great adventure with our guide, Cindy! She informed us of many of the rocks and minerals in the area as well as the local history of this dried up little town. She took us to 3 different sites in search of turquoise, azurite, and malachite. We were very pleased with our haul! The visitors center was inviting and the restrooms were clean. Recommended for a rock hounding adventure!

Courtland Ghost Town is a must! We went to visit in April and had an amazing experience. Our tour guide, Mike, is very knowledgeable and can tell you all about the history of Courtland. He was an amazing host and even arranged a variety of activities for us. Both the mine and cemetery tours were incredible. If you're looking for a little adventure, I would definitely recommend Courtland Ghost Town. It exceeded our expectations.

I had never been to a ghost town before. I half expected to be told cheesy ghost stories around a camp fire by a guy holding a flashlight under chin. This was not that. I went with a bunch of friends and had a fantastic time. Michael is a gracious host who knows everything there is to know about the town's origins. He hiked with us up the highest hills and down the deepest mines while explaining everything in sight. If you're the adventurous type, I highly recommend the tour.

This tour was awesome! The entire place has so many interesting aspects, and the owner Michael was such a great guide! It was so cool to be able to go right inside the mine and take a look around, and it is so open once you are inside! We then went to the Native American campsites, and it was like going back in time as you can still see the holes where they would grind up the acorns. The whole property is so fascinating - where you can see the mines, all of the different kinds of rocks, and how they cleaned them up in the acid wash. The cemetery was such a beautiful spot, so rich in history. I can't recommend this tour enough!

Hidden Gem! Great company and people made our first time rockhounding tour fun and interesting! There is so much history in Courtland and our tour guide, Cindy, was super knowledgeable and friendly. They provided a collecting bag and hiking poles for our adventure and the visitors center has real bathrooms that are clean. I can't wait to go back!

Had such a phenomenal time exploring this Ghost Town! The views, tranquility, personalized tour, mine exploration, hiking, gemstone searching--it was all such a blast! The accommodations are also incredibly comfortable, staying in a private RV with plenty of showers and toilets to host large groups. And with Mike as a fantastic host, you couldn't ask more from a trip to the desert exploring southwest history!
