Taken in 2011, before the remodel project, but the food is always to rave about, then or now.

My favorite Mexican restaurant that has inspired me to learn to cook several dishes from Tacos de Alambre to Asado. This place gets it right from the very start. The chips and salsa, guacamole, and queso are must orders. The salsa is hot but it will still have you coming back for more. It isn't open late but if you're patient at lunch you'll find yourself a gem and a new favorite in Pecos Texas. I usually order "Taquitos de Alambre" or "The Supreme plate." This time I ordered Tacos de Alambre and it was fantastic. Cocina Salgado is must try if passing through for lunch during the week. It will have you missing it's authenticity when you're at your hometown Mexican restaurant.

Best food in Pecos! Try the Tacos Durango - I could eat them every day. Or the Huevos Divorciados for breakfast. Super nice ladies and great service.

There's so few places in Pecos delivering this quality of food. The restaurant is charming, and the ladies running it are really lovely...and the food is hands down DELISH. If I could eat the beef chili verde and the pork asada multiple times every week I'd be a happy boy!

Cocina Salgado is very consistent in serving up delicious Mexican food. Over the last 5 years I've eaten there dozens of times and I've never been disappointed. It's a favorite with my co-workers. But go early (11:40) or show up later (1:00) to avoid the lunch backlog on the kitchen. At lunch service can be a bit slow, but hey, you can't get fantastic Mexican food out of a can! It's worth any wait. My favorite: the Asado plate. Square chunks of pork cooked in a spicy red sauce that would make you slap your grandma if she tried to eat off your plate. A bit pricey at $12.95 for a lunch plate, but it is excellent. As usual, it comes with rice, beans and two hot tortillas. Eat all you can. Of all the restaurants in town, for lunch, it is my #1 pick.

Go anywhere else.Took 25 minutes to be greeted and seated. Ordered food. Waited 45 MINUTES for it. Never got the chips and salsa(that we had to order) while we waited. They never came by after bringing our drinks to even check on us. Definitely should have just left, but felt like it'd be too rude. They were not apologetic or concerned, completely uninterested. It arrived and the beef in my enchiladas made Taco Bell beef look good. My friend's flautas were also mediocre at best. The whole back room smelled like the bathroom.

Wow! Best Tex-Mex I've had in a long time. Enchiladas with Green Chile were outstanding. Crispy tacos, everything tastes homemade. Don't miss it!

Easily the best Mexican food in Pecos. Does get super packed between 12-1 and three hours aren't the best but if you're looking for some really good Mexican food this place hands down. Taquitos Alambre or Tacos Durango are my favorite. Asado is awesome also. All homemade.
