The website showed they were open with their hours listed, although after driving from Marfa we found them closed for construction. Had to drive back to Marfa to go the winery there and then came back through Fort Davis going to the McDonald observatory. So disappointed and could have saved time and gas if it was updated online!

A visit to Marfa isn't complete without passing a few hours (or the day) sipping on the wine at Chateau Wright Winery. I've visited the winery twice now and it's a permanent stop on the itinerary I plan to Marfa. If you're a red wine drinker - you're in luck - as yummy reds are the bulk of the varieties you can enjoy. I recommend doing a tasting to fully enjoy - especially if it's your first time visiting. Plus - if you end up purchasing a bottle, the tasting fee is waved. While the property itself is still a bit in progress (they were putting the finishing touches on an AirBnB section the last time I visited, it's more about the wine and the views, right? And there's no better way to pass your day than by enjoying a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains as you gaze out over the grape vines. The staff is ALWAYS super friendly, if you're lucky you'll spot one of the roaming pets on the property, AND there's a really awesome food truck on site (Too Hot for TABC). If you find yourself in the area, don't pass up a visit to Chateau Wright Winery.

Absolutely stunning winery and fod truck outside of Fort Davis just 10 minutes away. James Smith the onwer is one cool cat. All the wine is truly amazing. The way they do things and the things they try here are gonna be big news very soon I assure you. The reds are amazing and the GTM sweet red are stunningly good wines here. All pretty affordable as well. The house bruger is a must and the charcuterie board is as well. Say hello to the dog moose for sure! He's a cutie!

Wonderful place to visit. Estate wines from Fort Davis. Only tried the reds and really enjoyed. Bright fruit, nice tannins and hint of some oak(?). You can do a tasting flight, by the glass or bottle. Nice location overlooking the valley. Food truck was very good for lunch. Highly recommended

Not sure what to think about this place. They do have a vineyard, which didn't look healthy. As noted from a review 6 months ago, the place is under construction, and from the looks of it, hasn't made any more progress. Some of the customers suggested we see their pool up the hill so we took a look- rebar sticking out, green algae on the water that we didn't need to see. Regarding the wine, it was pretty good- liked the Chateau Red and took home The Jackrabbit Red, their dessert wine. Bottles run $20-25. They also make a mead that is only sold in a store in town in limited quantities and got one if those as well ($32). Service was great, and there is a food trailer with a great menu, but didn't order anything. All in all there's a campiness about it, and grateful to have a winery to visit out there, but they really need to finish their buildout.

The wine was amazing and the employee was so sweet and helpful. We had my 1.5 year old nephew and the environment was perfect. Very relaxed wine tasting. Will definitely be coming back when near the area.

Like a few others have said. Reds were good.Whites and the Mead were not drinkable. They all had an extremely strong, off, but also chemical or medicinal aroma. This same aroma was also in the tasting. It is likely due to Brettanomyces or a bacterial contamination in the barrels. Additionally, the server was rude and quite pretentious when I told her the mead and white were not for me. I simply said it was not for me. She nastily responded with " Did you even try it!"I said nothing that they were bad. I tried a glass of their Sangria which was basically red wine poured over ice.Server was again pretty rude when I declined buying a bottle.

Not sure where these reviewers went, but when we were there about 1 year ago, the white white was undeniable, the red barely drinkable and the food expensive and bland. To top that, the flies were everywhere and finally drove us away. The view is stunning and I can only hope they have fixed these many deficiencies.
