The wine was nice! Staff was super friendly and we had the place to ourselves. We each bought a bottle or two to take home and enjoyed our time there.

I went to Carlson Creek winery as part of a Sedona trip. The person who talked to us about wine and served us our tasting was wonderful, she was authentic and very nice.We were given wine that was delicious in the tasting. I was very excited to enjoy some at home, but when I got home and opened the bottle it was vinegar..... completely disgusting and I couldn't even drink it. I don't know if it was stored incorrectly or if I was tricked by a small town winery What I do know is I paid 35$ a bottle for wine that I couldn't drink....... beware of this place

This was one of the best winetasting experiences ever! I love the adorable little house this tasting room is in, although I know they will be moving to another location probably in November. It will be a great excuse to visit another trio of wineries in Willcox. Yolanda provided us with wonderful service and is a talented artist whose paintings are on the wall inside here and other locations around town.My husband and I shared 10 tastings so that we could experience the full range of whites, a rosé, and reds. What was amazing is that we liked every single one! We ended up buying four bottles to take with us and it canceled out the cost of one of the tastings. We highly recommend this place- a new favorite!

This was a nice little wine tasting room. Very small, but cozy. The wines here were pretty good, I did like their Grenache. I feel like for the price of the tasting I wish they had nicer pours but it's all good. The lady working the wine tasting was very nice and we had good conversation with her. Check them out!

We had a wonderful experience at this "little house" tasting room. Our server, Ingeborg, was very knowledgeable and friendly. The charming setting and Ingeborg are a perfect match for comfortable and casual tasting. We liked all of the wines we tasted. Though we usually drink reds, we tried a couple of the whites. We liked the Sauvignon Blanc so much that we bought a couple of bottles. (The two for one daily special on the Sauvignon Blanc was an added incentive.) We also liked the Mourvedre and purchased a bottle of that. We have a really nice try tip roast and we are looking forward to having the Mourvedre with our tri-tip.

Of the three tasting rooms we visited this day, Carlson Creek was our favorite. Our hostess Lucy, was very informative and welcoming. Conversation just flows when enjoying the wines in this cute little building which was a former home. We could easily have spent the afternoon drinking and chatting with Lucy. The 2010 Chardonnay and the 2012 Sweet Adeline Riesling were our favorites and M and I took home a bottle of each. Thumbs up for Carlson Creek!

This was by far our favorite tasting room in Willcox. It's set in a little house right next to the railroad and when you walk in, you feel as if you stepped into somebody's home for a visit. The tasting room is quaint and rather than stand at a bar for your tastings, you can sit around a table if it's not too crowded. Now, if Lucy is there, you're in for a treat because she's the friend you came to visit! Lucy is very knowledgeable about the wine and just makes the experience that much more enjoyable. As for the wines, we fell in love with them when we first visited the tasting room in Scottsdale. And again, in Willcox, we weren't disappointed. Carlson Creek offered the best tastings of the day. I can't wait to return...I see a new wine club in my future!

So, I first heard about Carlson Creek Vineyard two years ago when I went to the biannual Willcox Wine Festival. I was excited to see if anything had changed and taste their new creations.CARLSON CREEK VINEYARDA family-owned vineyard and winery, Carlson Creek Vineyard was established in 2008 in Willcox, Arizona and is now one of the largest vineyards in the state. The 280-acre vineyard is located 4200 feet above sea level, similar in terroir to that of Rhone, France, allowing for the perfect balance of warm Arizona sun combined with crisp, cool evenings. The result is a wine portfolio that is smooth and understated, yet approachable. Varietals include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Syrah, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Malbec, Rosé and Mourvedre, with Chenin Blanc and Merlot varietals being locally sourced. THE STORY & SERVICE EXPERIENCEI popped in to Carlson Creek Vineyard tasting room this week, and was greeted by their lovely host, Inge.Shortly after, another guest, Vance, stopped in. It turns out, Vance is a 35 year old retired Navy lieutenant, who decided to spend a month going cross country on his bicycle tasting local wines.Vance had already been to Texas, Washington, California, and several other states, and had quite a bit of interesting ideas about wines, wine tasting, and wine tasting rooms, so I picked his brain a little.Since Vance is not returning to the wineries, his concept is a "one and done" style of reviewing; meaning he sets some parameters, and the winery gets one shot at making a good impression. His parameters included things like the atmosphere of the wine tasting room, including sitting/standing, the service, and of course, the wines. I liked hearing about his review style, although, I could never be so absolute and hard-nosed, as it doesn't leave room for exceptions or improvements.According to Vance's style, the review would be that the atmosphere was cute, but not impressive, the service was EXCEPTIONAL, as Inge is one of the coolest people I've met, and of course, the wines. The selections were whites: Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and reds: Sangiovese, Mourvèdre, Rule of Three, Syrah.Tastings were $10 for 5 pours, which is waved with the purchase of two bottles. I did both.I tasted all of the whites and the Mourvèdre, and bought 2013 Rule of Three and 2014 Syrah.I also tried their truffles set, which included Prickly Pear, Earl Gray Lavender, Mocha, and Simply Chocolate. $10. Yummy! My grand total was approximately $100. I learned quite a bit about local politics as well as wine tasting tips and references books I should read that Vance suggested. It was fun socializing with people that find wine as interesting as I do, and I see I have a lot more to learn. Also, I originally posted the review earlier, and the owner Robert Carlson brought the errors to my attention, which I immediately fixed. To my defense, my first error was based on Carlson Creek Vineyard's website being down, as was directed to another Carlson Vineyard. I immediately made the corrections, and called their Scottsdale location to notify that I made the corrections., which turned out to be a blessing, because now I've seen photos of that location, and I'm eager to try it. CONCLUSION I like Carlson Creek Wine. I think the Wilcox tasting room is cute, but not flash.Their Scottsdale location looks EXTREMELY high-end, and I can't wait to try that location too. Both staff members I've interacted with bent over backwards to make my experience a good time. The wines are fresh and bold. It's definitely worth checking out.4/5 RECOMMENDOF NOTE*Dirt parking out front. *Two locations: Wilcox and Scottsdale*Wine clubs available.*For more information, check IG, FB, Twitter, their website carlsoncreek.com is down.
