First time in Las Cruces and Caliches was a must try. Did not disappoint! The menu was massive and it's not just sweets but savory as well. We only tried the custards and it was a little soft but otherwise yummy. Wish we came back to try more options. The Foothills location only had outdoor seatingnot sure about the other locations. Service was nice and quick.

This was a brisk evening, so we were expecting Caliche's to be a a place where we could sit down inside to warm up and eat our Sundae. Unfortunately, it turned out that there were only seats on the outside and only employees could be in the building. Although it was getting pretty cold, we still got one item:Mango Dango ($6.29) - We got unsalted pecans on the sundae. The pecans were the best part of this dish. Really fresh, nutty, firm and almost crunchy texture. The rest of the sundae wasn't that great to be honest. The vanilla custard was way too light and airy, nothing like a proper frozen custard you could get in the Midwest. The custard was half melted within 10-15 minutes even though it was so cold outside - this is not something that would happen with a well made custard. The cubed mangoes were fine. They weren't particularly ripe and weren't at peak sweetness but they served their purpose. The mango flavored drizzle was not good. Very artificial and chemical tasting. The sundae was topped with a standard maraschino cherry, which was fine.We did try The Green Chile Sundae, which was interesting to say the least. It's pretty much just vanilla custard topped with green chiles that are charred and cooked down into kind of a marmalade They're just a bit spicy, but it works surprisingly well with the custard. The sample was a good size - I don't think I could have handled an entire sundae.Maybe I'm too spoiled by having all the amazing frozen custard around me in Michigan. The custard at Caliche's is just disappointing in comparison.

The neon lights definitely caught my eye as I drove by. I'm not sure if all Caliche's have the same design, but this location, as well as the sole location in Alamogordo, do. I can vouch for a cute photo op moment.Large parking lot. Outdoor dining and drive through are available. No customer restrooms, sadly. We tried two dogs. Windy City and Frito dog. Both were good. I created my own sundae. Vanilla custard w/ Reese's and freshly sliced bananas. Tasty combination. We tried the strawberry cheesecake caliche as well. Overall, the food was tasty and if I was in need for something quick and comforting, I'd return.

Great place to go this time of year. No long lines after a long hot summer! Everything is good here. From cones to floats, sundaes, hot dogs and more. The staff is always great and the dogs love their pup cups!

I know I sound like an addict at this point - I had Caliches twice last week at the Roadrunner location! A great experience again! This time I was adventurous and ordered snack foods too!!!! Fiesta nachos - very good and much larger than I expected. A great Caliches experience at this location! I highly recommend!

Visiting from Texas and we had to give this place a try after finding it on Yelp. They have a huge selection of custard treats, all sorts of refreshments and other food items. Prices are resonable and the custard was soo delicious. Although there was a long line for walk-up orders and for drive-thru they went quite fast and we were in and out quickly. Give the Orange Creamsicle a try... it was my personal favorite.

Hands down the best frozen custard I have ever tasted! I lived in Cruces 20 years ago when I first learned about Caliche's and crave it all the time! I rarely pass through Las Cruces since I live in Denver but stopped and waiting until they opened at 11 on my way through to get back in on that magic. The menu has several pre-concocted sweet treats which make it almost impossible to choose from but keeps your mouth watering while deciding! My niece and nephew chose two they were on the menu and I opted for a caliche custard with cookie dough mixed in and it was amazing! We cleaned our cups and spoons as if there was nothing ever in them. It's that good! Worthy of any and all road trip stops while passing through NM! My fav that I always crave and you will too!
