Cafe Oso Azul

As guests of Bear Mountain Lodge we have enjoyed the creative cooking of Café Oso Azul. Although the breakfast menu is somewhat limited to a 'dish-of-the-day,' the selections include blue corn and blueberry waffles with spicy fried chicken (Thursdays); baked oatmeal (Fridays); and butternut squash and spinach strata (Saturdays). The limited dinner menu is just as creative. You can dine either in the art-filled cozy dining room or the relaxed adjoining veranda. Advanced reservations are required for non-lodge visitors.

Excellent food and service. We ate on the patio and all 3 of us had the eggplant parmigiana. We ate on the patio and they moved the table closer to the building so we wouldn't get wet if it rained. The meal include several small items and was plated beautifully. Reservations are required and they always offer 2 meat and 1 vegetarian. I normally order the meat but I always have the eggplant parmigiana when it's on the menu because it's so good.

We spent our 50th wedding anniversary at the Bear Mountain Lodge. With our reservation we were treated to a complimentary breakfast in their Cafe Oso Azul. The breakfast included orange juice, coffee, fruit, granola, yogurt, pancakes with stewed pears and turkey sausage. Service was excellent. They do serve brunch, lunch and dinner with advance reservations.

Advertized on Yelp, but not open to anyone not staying at their lodge. If they are not inclusive to all, should they be allowed to advertise on Yelp?

Thy were open, it was a birthday just 2person and thy had no one but 1 table being served, and refused us . We drove in from a distance. Lift us hanging, put a damper on the day. Wasted trip, with all the kind and great service and good food in silver city nm. don't waste your time going to Cafe Oso Azul.
