Just received my second pair of boots custom made by Caboots. Just like my first pair, they fit like a snug glove and are exactly what I designed. I've bought 3 pairs of peewees from Caboots since the late 1990s. Joey is a good guy; I stopped off there once or twice while passing through El Paso on business. Their boots are well-made, and the leather is super soft. I wear boots very hard, and these last me about 5 years or so being worn every day. I hiked the Grand Canyon in a pair of the "Rosemary" peewees.In my experience, the company has been great to work with. The prices have gone up over the years, but they are still fair for handmade-in-USA boots.

I wanted to write a review that will probably seem very fake to previous customers but is a reflection of the experience I've had with Caboots and the owner Joey. For those uninterested in the whole review: the boots may take awhile to reach you but I can assure you that, if you are patient and willing, they will truly do what they can to make their customers happy and you will receive a very damn nice pair of shoes in the end. To start, I placed the order for my very first custom fitting buckle boots in early October/late September. I was completely nervous about the process, especially after having been scammed before and having certain fitting issues for my shoes (wide calves/ankles). By December I had received my boots and, to my devastation, the buckle closures did not fit my calves completely. Angrily I sent the boots back and, after a month of waiting, filed a claim out of fear of being scammed. I thought "There's no way in hell these boots were ACTUALLY made for me! I'm going to get screwed over!". Soon after filling my claim it was deemed successful and I had written the experience off as a lesson learned. To my shock, Joey contacts me with a solemn email and, despite having no payment at all, sends me the boots back. In about 3 days time they arrive and, to my shock, they fit PERFECTLY. Hell, if I didn't know better, I'd think they were totally different boots.To make matters worse, despite having the boots of my dreams, I couldn't reverse the claim until months later due to a string of crappy life events. I had the product but the creator wasn't paid for their work and I truly couldn't rectify that until recently. Yet, despite the delay and my being an overall awful customer, there is at no point Joey was angry about this or even remotely harassed me for payment. Customer Service remained exceptional long after I had practically done the thing I feared would be done to me.I want to say that I truly regret hassling them to the extent that I have in the past and hope other customers give them a chance. The customer service is exceptional, the quality is great, and anyone with that kind of patience is either a saint or the most mellow human on the planet. I can't speak for other customers, but my experience was exceptional and I hope anyone in doubt gives them a chance.

CAboots customer service and the quality of their boots is amazing. I emailed them for some ideas for some boots and Joey responded back quickly with a ton of pictures that they made. I ordered some caimans and they fit perfectly and turned out beautiful. I've emailed Joey for more ideas for another pair and he was quick to get back. The value for their custom made boots is great and the many different options are amazing. The online ordering was a breeze too.

Joey was easy to work with and my boots came out amazing. I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

I ordered Santa boots from Joey & his team and they are fantastic! The fit and quality are perfect and should last a lifetime!

I emailed for some sizing information about western boots, namely how to tell what size their boots are since they aren't marked in the boot but have a code number. Joey emailed me back that it was "top secret info". When I questioned how a wearer could know what size the boots were his reply was that "they call and order another pair". After that it deteriorated into some arrogant drivel about how he's booked for work for a year, etc. He could have just answered my question and created some good will for his brand, instead I got arrogance. He may be a big man in the world of western boots but that's a small world...

BUYER BEWARE. CHECK BBB ABOUT THIS COMPANY. I paid $6000 for 5 pairs of custom boots in early Nov 2018. He took my money up front and said the boots would be ready by January 2019.The first pair I received in March and the last pair I received In August. Each pair had something wrong. Two pairs had holes in the skins. My mom's were several sizes too small.. not sure if he switched the measurements. My sisters were way too big and the wrong color. My husband's were too small even after they were stretched... Joey kept giving me the runaround. I finally asked for a refund on my mom and sister's. I mailed back the boots. He never gave me a refund and he said he would refund.

The worst boot experience of my life x 2. This guy did my last two orders both wrong. Neither time ever getting what I ordered. If you have months and months and want to hear tons of excuses this is the place for you. Otherwise I would go back if I were you.
